Xbox One Gets Late Night With Jimmy Fallon Treatment

Get a look at Killer Instinct and Forza Motorsports 5 gameplay.

Late Night With Jimmy Fallon is going console-happy post-E3, and this time out it's Xbox One's [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/125111-Microsoft-499-Xbox-One-Will-Over-Deliver-on-Value] turn; the other consoles will get their time in the spotlight later. Microsoft's Phil Spencer gives Fallon a chance to beat the hell out of him in Killer Instinct, and then they take a nice, quiet drive around Prague. If you were wondering what gameplay looked like on Microsoft's latest, wonder no more.

Fallon's an militaries of the world declaring their disfavor [https://twitter.com/jimmyfallon/status/345587070393253888]; at least Fallon wasn't trying to play Forza from a nuclear sub.

Xbox One, the $499 Kinect-ready console, will be on sale from November 2013.

Jesus christ that was fucking painful.
I only flicked through but seeing them slap those fighting sticks like mentally challenged children with ADD, that hurt.

More evidence of Microsoft seemingly forgetting about the rest of the world. First only American TV and sports being shown off at the reveal, now promotion on American TV. I have not seen a single thing aimed at a more global audience like a TV add or something. but i guess its early days...

Still the PS4 for me.

To be fair, the 360's lion share of sales was in NA.

With that said, people watching the show will in all likelihood be fooled into thinking the xbone is a good system D:

If through some series of strange events you find yourself at my house so we decide to play some games against each other and this is how you do it I'm kicking you out and you're never allowed back.

Amen to that, brother.

Arcade sticks should never be subject to such abuse :(

Makes me wonder if Fallon is aware of all the draconian restrictions the XBone has..

Which was in itself a partial failure for the console. It could have dominated this past generation, if they would have bothered to offer as much of a a service in Europe as in America, and beat Sony by a similar margin as there.

Abandoning markets that you don't dominate might seem sensible, except that it's your incompetence that you don't dominate them in the first place, and you are only making it worse and worse by caring less and less about them, instead of fixing the problem.

So they didn't use the controller and they didn't use the kinect. Why?
Also, why did the xbox not respond to his voice command?
Microsoft, why do you refuse to show off any off the cool stuff...

To be fair to Fallon, whether he is or isn't aware, it really isn't his job to be the bearer of bad news. This is more of a 'smile smile smile' stunt. No doubt the other games and consoles he'll be showing off this week will get a very similar treatment.

I like how their one example of voice commands is how to tell your Xbone you just want to watch TV. However, since this is a television program, I suppose it is fitting.

Moreso than the fighting game, Jimmy's Forza play was extremely cringeworthy. He barely made it over 100MPH before crashing into something xD

Isn't this the same guy who had that dude from Guerilla facepalming over how terrible he was at Killzone back in February?

You know half of Europe is not scheduled to ever get the Xbox One to market?

Microsoft is targeting maybe 43% of the Xbox 360 audience in Europe for the Xbone.
Microsoft is intentionally considering most of Europe too backwater for the new Xbone.
The way Japan holds back many RPGs from the US.
MS is focusing on only Western Europe, and mostly the UK, France, Germany and maybe Spain.
Countries like Poland, Greece and so on are SOL when it comes to the Xbone.

Forget South America, Africa or the Middle East, MS is ignoring them completely.
Only Asian countries that are getting a release is (for the most part) South Korea and Japan.

But if MS is targeting to the US audience, then why the hell they showed FIFA on the Xbone announcement?
Almost no one in the US cares about soccer.

Further Proof MS thinks they can do whatever they want and treat their customer base like crap.

Sad part is there loyal fans are still blind to Microsoft's arrogance.

Well, no wonder the XBone is $500. Look at the huge setup you get when you buy it. That must be all the great value they were talking about. Well, now I'll just go on out and buy the new XBone!

I'm curious about the gaming choices. I guess those were the quickest games, they could choose, but it's still a bit odd. Also, I was expecting this to be a mockery, so now I am sad.

Betting Knack will be a game Sony shows off. Wonder what else... I doubt Infamous is ready for much exposure, but maybe they could show it off, too.
