Sorry america but Nintendo Europe is doing a pretty bloody good job for us. Anyone find out why they wont give you guys some of the only actual games being released on the wii in the last year? Also suck it.

Not a fan of JRPG's, to be honest. So it doesn't affect me none. And I couldn't even begin to fathom the logic of NoA not doing anything productive or useful with its time.

Wow the OP may have made that look a bit more dick-ish than intended...maybe...

But in all honesty:

"Dude, I don't think you appreciate how not mad I am."

OT: On a serious note, it must really suck for those who do want this game. I'd actually check it out if it was in here in America, but since Nintendo of America simply said, "we don't want to because fuck you that's why," it probably won't happen for a long time, if ever.

How does it play? Seriously, why didn't they release it here it's in English already damn it. What's wrong Nintendo, can't afford the postage?

My main point was to see if anyone knew why it wasn't being released in america if 'I'm being honest. But seen as you guys get most movies and games before us I like to see this a small victory for us Europeans. I think seeing this as a troll is more of a reflection on your own pessimistic view of the internet then my want to be annoying. I didn't google search it cause i thought someone would know rather than just want to hurl insults around.

Its a great play man. Actually are wii games region controlled. Americans can get it if they really want to if the european versions will work for them. Only problem I have are the british accents. Theyre a bit over the top.

Alright, my bad.

To be honest, Nintendo of America didn't really explain why they don't want to bring it to America. There was a group/petition called Operation Rainfall, I believe, who tried to get Nintendo to bring it to America. Nintendo responded with something along the lines of "thank you for talking with us, but we do not plan on currently bringing this over to America." Which, to me, sounds a bit like "Nice try, but we're not gonna do it...because we simply don't want to."

Then again, after the whole situation cooled down, I stopped paying a lot of attention to the whole thing.

I simply think they don't want to risk using that much money to produce a game like
Xenobades, just to have no one buy it...that or they simply don't see the need to.

It does sound a bit like that. Its messed up that they wouldn't listen to so many fans but I suppose NoA have been upto that for years.

You do know that Americans can easily play this game if they mod their Wii to get around the region lock, right? All they'd have to do at that point is just import the game and they're done. It's not like it would cost much, since tons of site ship internationally for not much. The only real trouble is modding the Wii, which isn't that big of a deal really. Just don't mod it to play pirated games, okay?

Also, did I go to 4chan by mistake? America vs. Europe thread? Seriously?

Well, I'm still holding out hope for an American release for those games.

That's even better. Over the top accents are way better than dull monotone stuff.

It's really fun. The combat is engaging because a lot of attacks rely on position in relation to the target, i.e., a back stab won't work if you're stabbing it in the face. Certain moves leave enemies in a state that can be abused by your allies and overall it's just a nice change from the boring turn based staple. There are no random battles, you pretty much get to choose when to fight something that isn't required to advance the story.

The voice acting is a little off, but I don't mind it really, it's nice to have something that isn't a high pitched American accent for a change. The equipment management is really good if you're into that sort of thing, i.e., there's a armour for pretty much every part of the body, headwear, torso, gloves, legs, feet etc.

The characters are likeable (no angst for a damn change), the game looks really good for a Wii game.

I'm not a massive JRPG fan, so take it from me when I say that you won't regret playing this one.

Maybe I´m overanalyzing this. But doesn´t this basically mean that Nintendo DOES believe Xenoblade is worth porting (i.e. a good game or at least one that would sell), but that it just isn´t the kind of game American gamers would go for ?
Which, I think, does NOT bode well for American fans of JRPGs.

Even if they decide not to release those games here, I think we'll live without them. ;)

Anyways, apparently the North American version of Xenoblade is done and The Last Story is almost done, they just haven't announced a release date.

I haven't played it, but as far as I can tell, no it doesn't have anything to do with Xenogears or Xenosaga. The only reason it is called Xenoblade is because the person behind those games (Tetsuya Takahashi) made this one as well. It was originally called Monado: Beginning of the World, and it is still up for pre-order on Amazon (the NA version of the site) under that name.
