Anybody remember the Xombie Flash series? That little slice of awesome from James Farr that came out like 4 years ago? Give it a look if you've never seen it.

Dreamworks bought the rights to do a movie sequel four years ago and then proceeded to do nothing with it. The rights have finally been given back to James Farr and now he's planning a sequel.
They're trying to raise money for a sequel on Kickstarter right now. This time they want to hire professional animators to do the sequel and therefore need quite a bit of money to make it.

Does anybody ele want to see this get made? I really do, but I think they set the bar a little high with their goal.
I guess I'm wondering if they should be going about getting the money for a series some other way. It seems like the kind of investment they're looking for is going to be pretty scarce on the internet.

How would you guys fund a series thats been away from the spotlight for so long?

You can get a kickstarter for anything these days.

Be back in a bit, going to start one up to fund my next pub crawl.

As much as I enjoy this series, $99,000 is a tough goal to meet. It's a shame Dreamworks didn't do anything with the property; I think that level of professional backing could really have turned out something cool. Well, I'll give my support and encourage others to do the same.

The most frustrating part to me is that they don't even seem to be promoting it themselves. It's like they assumed just creating a kickstarter page would be enough.

Hi OrdoXenos,

I'm curious what things you'd expect to see as evidence that they are "promoting it themselves"? What's missing for you?

Any posts on major sites. Posts by the company or the creator James Farr. Besides the kickstarter announcement, posts on the Xombie website and facebook page, and little posts buried in Newgrounds and reddit there haven't been any major posts.

Type "Xombie" into google and their kickstarter is half-way down the page. There are no news items related to it. I get that they're trying to move this through the fan base, but by posting only on websites that have had zero activity for years is not a good way to let that fanbase know that you're back.

They should be trying to get their story posted on the front page of sites like this one, or kotaku. Anything of that sort. In the comments section of their page they said that they have a few major connections in the entertainment industry, but so far I haven't seen any of those.
