so me and my mate the other day had a disagreement, we were sitting playing MW2 and he noticed that i prefer to play games with the aim inverted (down to look up, up to look down) and he was like "how can you play like that its just wierd" i explained i just feel more comfortable playing like that and he just kept saying i was wierd >.>

so im just wondering how do you all like to play games, inverted or normal?

EDIT: i should have added a poll to this but oh well

Normal. Inverted just feels odd, and gets aggravating with mouse controls in a third person game. I seem to have a tendency to slide up when moving the mouse around, which on inverted plants my viewpoint directly at the ground.

I do it like a flight stick. Forward for down back for up, I'm not sure if that's considered normal or inverted.

For flying planes, I invert.
For cameras, usually normal.

I don't think you can add a poll once you make the thread, its too late.

I prefer the old fashioned up is up and down is down. Then on the other-hand if you was to give me a flying game I prefer it to be inverted.

I sometimes confuse myself... o_O

Inverted on a console, I'll try my best to explain why. I'm right handed, when I hold a rifle my right hand is on the trigger, because you only control the Y-axis with the right stick, it would best be described as my right arm having to move in the opposite direction to where I want the muzzle of the weapon to point. It's all very strange, but it just feels right for me.

Inverted. This is a result of playing Duke3D ( the first fps I played with mouse aiming) at the same time as Falcon 3.0, an anal retentive combat flight sim.

My mate plays like that too. I was ok with it until he started changing my controls too... control freak >.<

I don't understand why games and gamers have decided that the invert is even remotely worthwhile.

I hate it. Absolutely hate it. I can' do it.
It pissed me off last time I was at a friends' and we were playing halo 3(I already hate its multiplayer to begin with, 2 is MUCH better!) and he had inverted on his controls. WHY?

I can understand with flight sims but anything else is just being a tool.

Yeah, I mean those people who write with their left hands as well, what's that about? It's awkward for me, therfore they're weird!

I used to use inverted all the time. But then suddenly I couldn't play with inverted controls. No idea why. I've used normal ever since.

For many years I have played games that use the inverted Y-axis by default. I now cannot get used to a regular Y-axis in shooters or flying segments.
In fact, I have to change the options occasionally just to have the invert.

... that would work if you could make the argument that handedness is 100% by choice.

On the PC I use normal as it feels more natural, but when playing on a console I always invert.
