Yes, another tattoo thread... But somewhat different!

"Ugh, another tattoo thread? We have one of these, like, every month!"

Yes, yes, I know, but I just cannot resist flaunting my new (and first) ink.

To make this thread somewhat different, I want to ask this: If you've had tattoo work done, do you have any that you regret?

This stems from several people I know telling me that I was dumb for getting this tattooed on me and that I'll regret it years from now, but I wholeheartedly disagree with them. I've been a gamer all my life and Final Fantasy was one of the very first games I played and it's definitely a large part in who I am today. I've always found the Chocobo and Moogle endearing, so having the two together is an awesomeness overload that I feel I'll cherish forever.

Anyway, post pics of your favorite tattoos, maybe share a story about a tattoo you regret if you wish, or discuss future tattoo ideas.

Nice one!

Zapdos in January, the Kusari flag in May.

I don't know if I'll ever get another tattoo in the future. Certainly not in the near future.

I do regret having to go to work the day after getting the arm tattoo and having to lift hundreds of lifts of moulding... Ouch! D:

Nice! I'm pretty sure I've seen your Zapdos on another thread somewhere. It's pretty shweet. Any plans on getting it colored in or are you just leaving it as that?
I don't recognize the 2nd one though. At first glance I thought it was the Goron symbol from Legend of Zelda lol. What's it actually from?

I also work at a job that involves lifting relatively heavy objects a lot. I've got tomorrow off, but I'm not looking forward to Thursday.

I prefer Zapper as an outline only. I'm never filling it in. Oh and the second one is from Freelancer, my favorite game. It's a flag from one of the sovereign states of the game.

That's cool, it looks really good as it is. From what I've seen colored tattoos with a lot of yellow don't look the greatest IMO anyway. I've been looking at ideas for a Triforce and the black&white ones just always seem to look better to me for some reason.

Ah okay, I've actually never heard of that game before somehow lol.

I got a couple & don't regret either & I'm planning on getting more & this will be the next one I get

I want to get it on my forearm, but I'm a bit cautious about getting on that could be a pain to cover up if I had to.

I have a tribal on my upper left arm that goes around the shoulder. I had it done about 8 years ago and I kind of forget that it's even there. At this point it's just a part of my body, I mean... nobody goes around thinking all that much about their legs. I mean yeah it's fantastic to have them but it's not like you ever really think about it.

Anyway to answer the question. No, I don't regret getting my tattoo.

I haven't got any ink yet but I'll be getting my first in a few weeks!
My sister's a tattoo artist and she's doing a piece for my 18th birthday.

If you've had tattoo work done, do you have any that you regret?
I haven't had any done yet so I can't answer for myself but I do know my sister regrets a few of hers.
They take up what she calls "prime realestate" and they don't really mean anything to her so she's just a bit bummed out that she can't have a different one done.

You're seriously going to regret that later in life. A blue chocobo? Everyone knows they are the worst :p

I don't have any tattoos that I regret so there is not much more I can add personally. I do know a few people who got the typical tribal tramp-stamp done in their teens (it's suprising how few tattoo places actually check someone's age) and hugely regret it.

No offence, but video game tattoos always seemed tacky to me. Not my thing. Also I don't like needles much. So no tattoos. Chocobos are cool though.

My first thought when I saw your arm was...is he Kratos? Ghost of Sparta coming on there dude.

Nice tat aswell.

Personally I don't think I'd ever get one, the whole permanently marked thing kinda puts me off. Having said that I do like looking at ones with a bit of colour on them. OP's is very nice.

I can't really think what I would go for, something simple an not too imposing, that is nothing special to a casual observer but to the informed it has relevance. Like the Aperture Science logo.

Some really nice ink up in here...

That's my only video game themed one. Left shoulder blade. I have the Beatles logo, Aequitas, and 'Heir of Durin' in Dwarvish elsewhere, though.

Yeah, two of the three tattoos I have never stopped irritating my skin, even after ten years. I'm having both of them removed, and it's a long, expensive process and INCREDIBLY PAINFUL HOLY SHIT.

Yeah, I heard that some people just have bad reactions to tattoos. I've never been irritated by mine after the recovery period ended.

I'll never get a tattoo or piercing of any kind, but it's always cool to see what other people get. As cool as they can be though it's just not for me :p

With me, I noticed it was only the two that had color that I had a problem with. The one I have that's just black has always been fine. That's the kind of stuff that you really wish you could know ahead of time, haha.

Nice tattoo. I don't really care for Final Fantasy, but that's a charming piece of art you have there. Here are two of mine:

I don't have any videogame ones, all my tattoos tend to be oriental.

What do those mean? If I may ask.

OT: I don't have any tattoos yet so I can't really contribute. I think I might get various music related tattoos though, Eddie Vedder's face on my left butt cheek, Frank Black on the right butt cheek.

Well I took inspiration from one of my favorite quotes. Ya know, "Happiness and sanity are an impossible combination."? I think it was Mark Twain who said that.

Anyways, left = Happiness, right = Insanity.
