So recently Ive started playing Magic the Gathering and convinced like 6 or 7 other people to join in. So thats fun.

The game seems to be a recurring gag machine with all the comments we make. Like Herald of Kozilek being a guy who sings about Kozilek in the style of Genie from Aladdin.

Everyone starts singing or humming when one comes out now. KOZILEK THE GREAT DISTOOOORTIOOOON

We also seem to have some sort of disney thing because every time I play an Akoum Hellkite somebody says 'Akouma Matata! What a wonderful phrase!'

http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=401805

And now whenever we let somebody do take backsies when they make a bad move from not understanding the rules or something, we quote Xerxes from 300 with 'For I am kind.'

So what are you and your friends in jokes? Any kind not just Magic the Gathering.

Resident Evil voice acting. We've been joking about it for I guess what is 20 years today. Especially Barry Burton. "OH MY COD!", "Jill Sandwich", "Wesker is a CRAZY man!", "BLOOD! Hope it's not.... CHRIS' BLOOD!" & "Do you think we can... SEE Tyrant?" never get old.

This, lol.

Lately though, me and my friends have been somewhat enthralled by, and doing never-ending impressions of, this particular gem of a video one of my friends found on YouTube;

An absolutely perfect impression of Oblivion's insane AI and physics. XD

There is this old, crazy, half-assed 40-second "fandub" (of the Finnish dub) of the anime Ginga: Nagareboshi Gin. There's this one part that goes EXTREMELY well with some bad plays of LoL or CS:

"Now you're gonna die! Rawr!! I'm gonna kill you!" [gets smashed between bear paws] "NOOO! I'm getting killed MYSELF! This fucking sucks!"
So for example: "I'm going in, I'm gonna get them!" [AN ALLY HAS BEEN SLAIN!] "Shit, got killed myself. And it fucking sucked."

If somebody for some bizarre reason wants to check out the video clip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XWUc2f_hvmM

I was playing Dynasty Warriors Empires while friends watched. We made a joke about King of the Hill and now Cao Cao is always thought of the bringer of propane and Propane accessorys.

He will win his conquest to bring clean fuel to all xD

In smash bros, anytime jigglypuff wins the losers have to sing "she works hard for the money". Also we sometimes hold a finger to our ear and scream "Delta where are you" in reference to GOW.

After a number of frustrating issues with finding Subject 16's puzzles in the Assasin's Creed universe, my brother and I have adopted the phrase "Damnit, 16!" to the point where just referencing the number in ANY context becomes a curse.

Soul trapping and enchanting appropriate objects in Skyrim with the souls of people I don't like might be another? I find it funny, at least.

its a LoL joke. we once played ARAM. it was 4 of us and a random dude. the guy got kayle and was extremely unhappy with it. we told him how kayle is OP then it started. we spammed him with " op save us!" (when we were behind) "god save op" (when he did anything) and comments like that. now its a running gag. we call each other op and laugh at it

My cousin has the tradition of naming his videogame characters UNK. That's because he once wrote in a paper the name LINK, with a really bad calligraphy. So from then on, he has created memorable characters as Unk Shepard.

One gamign in-joke that's keep getting brought back up with my best friend is a NPC from Tony Hawk's Underground 2.
In the remade Canada level there's one single NPC, knock him off the ramp and you hear him saying "Oh no, I don't wanna die!".

What made it an in-joke however was the fact that the quote wasn't triggered by the NPC himself, but rather touching that particular spot on the half-pipe.

Me and my crew have turned the left 4 dead series into a nightly buddy movie. The amount of in-jokes and personality specific quips that fly back and forth are too numerous to count. Socially, it's some of the most fun I've ever had while gaming.

Wait...isn't the point of an "in joke" that only a select group of people would understand it and why it's funny? The OP's anecdote about singing for the Herold in MtG is a perfect example. I don't find it all that silly, but I'm sure the OP and his/her friends find it to be very amusing indeed.

For me, it's stuff like:
"Ninjas with poop sacks!"
"Special delivery..."
"CHA-PUTTIN!"
"Maybe it's catfish!"
"I heard that (insert random gamer friend's name)."
"You don't know yet?!"
"You're standing in my spot, sir."
"DAMN YOU REYNOLDS!"

I doubt that means much to anyone hear, but if I or one of my friend's says it at the right point in time during a game it'll draw riotous laughter. :p

My group of friends have been playing Destiny since launch, my brother has as well, but there is one exotic that has never dropped for him, the pulse rifle Red Death. Everyone else has one, I have even decrypted a legendary engram into one, we always screenshot and share with him. Even when we play other games like The Division or Borderlands someone will always pull this number...

"no freakin way"

*my brother* What did you get!?

Red Death...

*my brother as everyone is laughing* All of you can go straight to hell.

There have been a few jokes made in my DnD group, as all DnD groups will eventually have once enough 1s and 20s are rolled in ridiculous situations.

Doors are our greatest enemy. Once we spent forever trying to open one door to one house. Our half orc Barbarian, our Psionic Warrior tank roll actual shit 5 times in a row. My squishy Wilder comes in and rolls shite as well even our old wizard guy chips in and sucks a dick too. That door was never even beaten in the end, a simple goddamn wooden ass door. Doors are the real threat in any situation...

Running joke about my characters and spiders, it all started with my character getting sneak grappled by some giant spider in a spider infested shack. Several run-ins with the fuckers later, she burns down the entire farm via casting a fire spell on their huge webs to purge the infestation with extreme prejudice, even at the expense of friendly fire cuz fuckin' dickhead over here wants to look for treasure that isn't there.

"Lithandir I fucking swear, you have 10 seconds to leave this room because this place is going up in flames whether you're out or not!"

Fuckboy DM runs with this new phobia and throws in fucking PHASE Spiders everywhere he can. She ends up with a +4 to Spot to spiders and he flirted with the idea of flipping a coin to see if I get a permanent plus or minus to spider encounters. We'd just had a major Darkest Dungeon session, think of it that way.

A recent one is me and my friend found a weird doorless shack on a rooftop n The Division and were like "WTF no door!?". Shortly after while looking at a bookstore one of the books is "Guide to Shed Building" and we died laughing saying it was written by the guy who made the roof shack.

Another is when my brother was taking to Krea at the end of Kotor II and he skipped through it and she says "I used you, I used you, I used you, I used you, and I used you" which we quote to each other a lot.

"I'd give my right arm for X." - one of the players always loses his right arm at some point in a campaign, no matter what we play. It started in Dark Heresy.

"It's a great day to be a gnome." - my bother played a gnome in D&D and became the greatest gnome ever apparently. I wasn't there, but I took it and my group uses it.

"DAMMIT MANCOVI." - anytime something Slaaneshi or dark elf-y happens, we refer to an old character that was a dirty old man.

"The power of wishful thinking." -anytime I'm asked how orks do anything from the commonplace to the impossible. More of an offshoot from an old 40k joke than anything.
