What do you choose?

Saw this asked somewhere on the internet and thought I would get some fantastic and intriguing answers here on the Escapist!

Its a very very difficult question to answer, but something that has always fascinated me is the Wow! signal [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wow!_signal]. To find the origin of it would be something that would be absolutely awesome.

I know there are many others which would likely be just as or even more interesting, and that is why I have asked this question! To find out which event/phenomenon you would like to know the truth behind.

So what would it be for you?

EDIT: Another one sprung to mind. How was fire first discovered. What happened in that moment?

Upon reflection, I was going to say the Roswell Landing but instead, I opt for the answer to the answer for the equation that ties the science of the very big to the very small. Don't have much time to elaborate on that since I'm heading out the door for work as I type this but hopefully, someone else will while I'm away.

I'd be surprised if most people didn't say they'd like to see if the Big Bang happened or if God made the world, or something along those lines.

I'm very much curious about "The bloop". You know, the ultra low frequency sound that could be heard at a 5000km radius? The one that scientists agreed on could only originate from a living creature? I want to see that fucking creature.

I was tempted to do that too. Really fascinating, the creature must be epic.

Either the real truth on how the Dinosaur became extinct or how those Shaolin books/ lore etc got destory. I mean I read that some people raid the temples for some reason and burn all the books but the monks survive to pass on the teaching.

The historical events surrounding Jesus Christ- his life and the circumstances surrounding his death. Beyond a few contemporary historians mentioning him in passing, there are no historical sources to my knowledge outside of the Bible that give a detailed account of what happened exactly.

Any phenomenon? Human Intelligence - or intelligence in general. I'm pretty sure it's a function of the brain, but exactly how all those various brain structures communicate with each other to form a fully conscious being is the major goal of pretty much all neurology.

Any historical event? You know, there's not really that much I can think of - most of the stuff I'm interested in has already been pretty much explained or detailed. I suppose the extinction of the dinosaurs or the first development of writing would top my list of "things of which I wish I knew how they happened".

The Big Bang. As a fan of explosions and bangs in general (even the hair and Shishigami kind), it would be awesome to see the first and biggest.

Well, now I don't need that special power!

But seriously, the start of the universe.
You gotta be specific or you could get stuck with any old big bang, and might I add that it's an unproven theory that the Big Bang was the direct start of the universe.

Actually, it's a misconception that the ''Big Bang'' was some sort of HUGE AND AWESOME AND BRIGHT AND LOUD EXPLOSION OF EPIC. It would be more like lots of gas, probably hydrogen alone (which you can't see, because there would be no light) expanding outwards.

OT: Probably the Wow Signal, too. Or maybe that patch of empty space we can't see anything in. Not sure about that one, I heard it somewhere but can't find any information on it. Links, anyone?

The entire truth behind electron self-interference, please.
The lack of perspective behind some of the answers in this thread disappoints me.

Here you have the possibility of knowing the full truth behind some of the greatest and most fundamental mysteries of the universe. The chance to acquire knowledge that might bring humanity infinitely further forward than anything up to now.
And you just want to know the origin of a slightly puzzling radio signal or sound, or the truth behind some ultimately insignificant historical happening?
The answers to both, I may add, has a horribly high chance of being absolutely mundane.
*sigh*

If "who killed JFK" is the most puzzling thing you can think of in the entire history of the universe, I feel sorry for you, and I recommend looking into science.

I have a feeling that would end in disappointment, but if not, it'd be FREAKING cool.

"Scientists" didn't really "agree" on that.

CTs will always exist because they will manufacture their own evidence even despite facts.
