This will be the only remaining sign that Humans have ever existed, whatever finds it will have the means to activate/view it and understand it as it was intended to be understood.

This will be a complete and total representation of the Human species as a whole.

What do you pick?

I choose Starship Troopers, the film. I reckon it's a solid representation of one aspect of man. I'd choose something more well-rounded but nothing comes to mind right now that shows the light and dark side of humanity.

The Complete Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy series. The only reason i choose this is because it deals with Life The Universe and Everything with such humor that it should be shared

The Night's Dawn trilogy by Peter F. Hamilton

Well written, but dense, series of books.

A Disney cartoon, for no particular reason other than this:

District 9.

While that film does portray us human in the negative spotlight but it does show that among them, one man (the main character) as in repersenting the few can be good.

Pilgrim's Progress, because I think deep down we all want to know if there's something past ourselves and the world we live in. Plus, it deals with a quest for immortality. I guess the Epic of Gilgamesh is also a good thing for this, but since we've not even found the whole thing I doubt the aliens/ghosts/necrons/meatloafs/proteinshakes that find it will have much more success at it than we have.

Any history book that deals with wars. What beter way to show what humanity is than with facts of what we are cabable of and no matter how hard we try world peace is impossibility and that despite the ammount of wars and plagues(etc.) we are still here.

Earthbound, obviously. The game (My copy, which has disappeared, sadly) is a wonderful SNES game that has complexity in its simplistic look and feel. Even though it looks like it was made for kids with it's happy looking graphics, it has deep meaning in lots of places, references and pastiches, as well as its design. Not the perfect game, granted, but there is a something to be mentioned when you experience your memories and create the character you play, as opposed to the author making the game for you.

Yup I'm going to agree with this.

My answer would be Grim Fandango.

THIS. THIS. THIS.

Greatest film ever made. If there was ever one movie to represent humanity, let it be this one. It will make us look a whole lot more interesting than we actually are...then again that could be said for most movies.

Hmm...

I choose Hotline Miami. Why? Because we were violent, ruthless and most of us despised people who wore white suit coats over blue flared collar shirts.

Fool, all of you are fools.

Catch 22. Because that is some catch that catch 22.

Hmmm... At the moment I would choose Cherie Priest's Clockwork century series of books, because I have really gotten into the series. I think it's very well written and got a great pace. Good old steam punk fun.

I don't know, schindlers list maby. Kinda sums it up, we have a tendency of being terrible but some people keep insisting on making the world a better place.
