The rules are simple

1. The danger is real, you can die

2. You are not a main character, meaning unless nameless people have powers, you don't get them

3. Lets keep it clean, no Hentai worlds, sides you aren't a main character.

4. You know you aren't from this world, so you can be savvy enough to not fall for any cliches and so on.

So yeah thats it.

For me, the world of Yugioh, that would be fun. If I had to pick what Era, either Battle City Era (shame I wouldn't make it to the finals) or GX because hey a school of nothing but dueling, eh I think I'm Ra Yellow Material.

If I had to go for a more dangerous world, One Piece, wouldn't mind sailing the seas, going on an adventure to strange islands, and maybe I might get a devil fruit LOL.

I also Suppose Sword Art Online would be a fun world to live in...despite the danger, if I did die in there, guess I'd die the way I lived LOL, gaming

A Hermit's Cave
For the most part, probably that of Aqua...

It's so chilled out and no-one's a jerk, I can just do my own thing... hobbying, crafting etc., and not worry about my own welfare. And it's Venice, without any of the architectural issues... what's not to love?! I'd like to own a cat as well...

School Rumble would probably be my first choice. Everything is fairly safe and normal, except for the fact that every once in a while something hysterical occurs, and every other girl that walks down the street looks like a supermodel. Perhaps I'm just too attached to the ordinary, but I think it would be best. One Piece wouldn't be so bad either, but it depends on which island you're on...

Really? Are you sure you wouldn't want to be in Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D? Then you could play
:p

As for me, I'd go with Bobobo-bobo-Bobobo. It's a world where absolutely anything can happen and the more wild and vivid and absolutely insane your imagination is the more powerful you become, even for normal "back-ground characters" (see the Hajike base "saga").

Edit: Wait a second! Just thought of a better choice. Monster Musume. I have no clue why I didn't think of this before. It's just our world with monster girls in it, I could live with that quite easily.

Pokemon is the only one I would enjoy. (with your restrictions) I mean, I kick ass in the games, against the AI, and the characters in the show are even dumber than that. I should be a Pokemon master in no time. Plus I could have a Charizard, what kid wouldn't want that?

Log Horizon would be my second choice. It's Sword Art Online, only you can't die. Well as far as I know you can't. I never watched past episode four.

Without the restrictions, Fairy Tail would be my main choice. Being a mage for a living would be awesome.

Pokemon...uh no, because have you seen some of the Pokedex entries and the size of the pokemon....seriously http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Zubat_%28Pok%C3%A9mon%29

Zubat is little over 2 feet...think about how many zubats you face in game, and think about the many you don't see (lets say every zubat you see there are 3 more in the shadows)

Seriously wouldn't want them jumping me and biting me

If Ash can survive for as long as he has, I think I'll be fine. I don't think Pokemon actively seek to kill humans either.

They would be like wild animals, maybe some wouldn't activly go out, but other ones that are carnivorus...yeah they might try and take us...hell in the Pokemon Adventure Manga, Red nearly got killed by a victoribell

Real world scenario, the world of pokemon would be a rougher place to live in. But hey thats my thoughts, you want to live in there, go for it BTW Charizard is pretty small, little under then 6 feet high...that kinda makes me cry

Shirokuma (Polar Bear) Cafe!!!

Sure there are far more exciting anime world out there but they tend to have a higher deathrate compared to the real world which bring in Shirokuma cafe.

It's a slice of life sort of anime but with talking animals and are treated the same as human (well somewhat since some of them work in the zoo)!

I be competely fine not being part of the the main cast since all I want is to entered Polar Bear cafe and try out one of his meals!

I suppose runner up is the recent finished Gundam Buld Fighter. Unlike the rest of the franchise, it isn't an war drama like story and no death related tragedy what so ever (other than having my model broke to pieces)! It's also the fact that I too is a model builder so seeing my finished model come to life and renacting Gundam scene is one of my dreams for me!

2 for YuGiOh. I always thought that if a card game were ever actually produced with working detailed holograms it would sell like hotcakes regardless. If they ever did that with Magic the Gathering...

Sure there is the occasional supernatural entity trying to eat everyone's souls or destroy the world or brainwash everyone, but if your 4th rule holds true we know things will be okay in the end thanks to the hero. Or we could just strap on a duel disk and end the threat ourselves since all the heroes are terrible players who rely on insane luck to win.

Why has nobody said Attack on Titan?

Yes, you'll probably suffer a terrible death at the hands of titans, but you get to use medieval ODM gear.

I was gonna say One Piece, but after reading comments, I agree that Pokemon would be the better choice.

No, wait.

Nichijou. I choose Nichijou.

I think I want to change my answer to Paranoia Agent.

Sometimes I just kinda feel like getting whacked in the head by a crooked baseball bat wielded by a non-existent sinister entity that would ultimately free me of all stress, anxiety, and responsibility.

Cowboy Bebop, obviously. You fly around space, and do space things. I suppose if you want a wackier version of that, Space Dandy will do.

Alternately, Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet. Basically Waterworld, but with decent writing. Least I'd finally get a tan.

Alternately alternately, Durarara. By a strange twist (watch the show sometime) the "background" people are actually some of the most important! Unfortunately, it takes place in Tokyo, and I don't speak Japanese.

I'm going to have to say Hunter x Hunter. Because Nen is a thing. Though it WOULD have to be before the Chimera Ants showed up....

One Piece. I love adventuring, pirates, and who wouldn't want kickass friends as your crew? Plus, if I had my choice, the Jikan Jikan no Mi.

So yeah thats it.
Do we get to decide where we start out geographically?

Do we get to decide at what chronological point in the series we would be?

Do we retain a working knowledge of that world and how it works? Our detailed knowledge of the world from having watched the anime/read the manga?

Do we retain our knowledge of the real world?

Depending on the answers to those questions several possibilities exist....

Pokemon remains a strong candidate, since just about anyone who wanted/tried to could catch a whole bunch of meowth/persians, train them to do the 'pay day' attack, and be set for life.

Vision of Escaflowne, if I get to be on Gaia, where all the gorgeous cat-people live (though they seemed to be fairly rare...).

Ah! Megamisama! if I could be near the Nekomi tech campus, and know who Urd and Skuld were and therefore know to bribe one or both of them with ice cream/sake and get them to tell me the number of the Goddess Assistance Line.

Possibly Ranma 1/2 where my knowledge and experience in shiatsu would allow me to help people in *amazing* ways.

Of course if I get to come in at the end of the series, Rio; Rainbow Gate, which is much like our world but
Rio uses the wishes she won to make the world a better place for everybody, wishing for crazy things like world peace, that everyone who had lost something or someone precious would find it/them again, etc...

Oh, good answer.

However, I've gotta go with Revolutionary Girl Utena and the specific setting of Ohtori Academy.

A high school that grants its students eternal youth (to everyone, not just main characters) and apparently immunity to STDs? And is ruled by a beautiful student council? And sometimes there are duels in the forbidden forest behind the school?

Count. Me. In.

Oh, and apologies for minor Utena spoilers.
