You can only play ONE genre forever, which is it.

You are faced with a hard choice. You must choose one game genre to play, and thats it. Which type of games would you want to be stuck with forever?
(note, this is only gameplay genres, not stuff like sci-fi, fantasy, ect...)

For me, FPS. I just enjoy simple pleasures, like shooting stuff.

It's a difficult choice; when I'm right into a game, I enjoy action games - either action/adventure games or shooters, but I don't feel like there's enought releases that I enjoy to keep me entertained. And of the multiplayer options, I often feel neglected either by the design of a game, or the lack of Australian servers/matches/whatever.

I find myself able to continue coming back to RPGs, playing through closer to 100%ing a game. I'm currently playing through Fallout:NV, before that I played through Oblivion again, I still play Diablo II on PC occasionally. Strategy games, of all varieties keep my interest on the PC - RTS, City-Building, Grand-Strat, Simulation games...

So, I'm going to have to settle on RPGs.

As Spadge points out, it's a really difficult choice, but in the end, I think I'd have to go with RPGs as well. RPGs nowadays has a lot of variety, different setting etc. Hell, with a bit of a stretch you could even include games like Mass Effect 1 + 2(1 more than 2, though 2 has more action) and Alpha Protocol.

Also, RPGs(atleast older ones) tend to be huge, time-consuming and a lot of them have an interesting story.

One thing that would be hard to give up though, would be my favourite game of all time, Half-Life 2, but with Planescape: Torment, BG 1 + 2, I think I'd be okay. Luckily, IRL you don't have to choose, but my final answer will have to be RPG.

Minecraft. Sure its a game and not a genre but with time.. With time, it will have RTS/Adventure/Rpg/Build-- You name it. And even without all that it can still entertain me for forever.

RPGs - Most diverse, best stories (on average), most varied gameplay.

RPG

Why? Cause there are more different types of games labeled that than most!
Same answer, same reason.

If RPGs included MMORPGs then I'd have to take that choice as there's the full-time enjoyment of an addictive MMO or you could just play some enjoyable story-based RPG.

If they were seperate though, I don't know.. I have played Counterstrike Source for a long time...

Not sure what it is, but it would be a combination between MineCraft, RPG, RTS and FPS and maybe a space explorer game in the mix too...

So basically, it would be combining MineCraft, Oblivion (which I'm counting for both RPG and FPS), Starcraft 2 and some kind of space explorer so I don't have to stay on the same planet all the time.

RPG's, there is a lot of them, they tend to last me ages, they are fun and that way I get access to all the Bethesda games.

RPG's. Great stories, fun to fiddle with, great replayability, a lot of great classic titles to choose from. Most of my favourite games are RPG's.
