You Choose: Best story, Best Multiplayer

There are certain video games that you buy because of the story, and some that you buy because of the multiplayer. (at least for me)

What game has the best campaign, and what game has the best multiplayer?

My favorite story would have to be KOTOR II.
My favorite multiplayer is Battlefield: Bad Company 2

Multiplayer: Unreal Tournament with its million mods, or Starcraft with its million map mods... depending on my mood.

We haven't seen their like since... nor will we, I think.

Story: Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
Multiplayer: Halo: Reach

I'd say Mass Effect has the best single player experience, but I just love the Knights of the Old Republic games.

Story: KOTOR is quite special. Lot of fancy new things it did at the time. Plus, it wasn't anbastard evil Star Wars off spring supping at the teet of George Lucas.

Multiplayer: Tricky. With getting older I seem to play less and less multiplayer. I do enjoy co-op though and multiplayer nights with my chums. In my youth I enjoyed Unreal Tournament, Quake 2 & 3, and use to enjoy being the axis in Return to Castle Wolfenstein. Oh, and I enjoyed many a fun time playing C&C online, too.

I dabble a bit in some Halo every now-and-then. I use to play WoW a great deal, but I can thankfully say I am cured of it's addiction. ^_^

Best story: Hmm. Tricky one. Either Majora's Mask, Super Mario Sunshine or Psychonauts. They're all good in their own ways... Eh, I'd say Psychonauts.

Best multiplayer: In terms of playing with friends probably Halo 3, just from the amount of variety the various gametypes, variants, items, forge, and theater give it. But in terms of actual quality of gameplay, definitely Brutal Legend.

Multiplayer: Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare

Story: Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney: Trials and Tribulations
Multiplayer: Team Fortress 2

Story: Psychonauts, more because of the way it's delivered and the elements than the actual story.
Multiplayer: Modern Warfare 2, because you can customize your class more than halo and shotguns secondaries (I'm looking at you Black Ops!!!)

Story: lots to choose from, but I think Mass Effect wins. It's not hugely origional, but it's incredibly well told and suitably awsome and epic and other vauge adjectives. Uplink gets an honourable mention for being an amazing conspiracy story told in something like a thousand words.

Multiplayer: Killing Floor. You just can't go wrong shooting zombies with an AA12 while your mate blows apart some hulking undead monstrosity with a LAW launcher. You just can't.

Well, for me the best story is Halo ODST, but with the multiplayer, its more difficult because Halo Reach has full customization of maps and characters, while CoD Black Ops has game changin perks, weapons, and has an the sense of character classes. Which one, which one... Oh! I know! Team fortress 2.

Story: Ico + Shadow of the Colossus
Multiplayer: See above. Hur hur, just kidding, um... probably Starcraft and II for being so diverse and well-supported despite being RTS's. Perhaps TF2 and the L4D's because that is their bread and butter.

Story: don´t know, games are not even near books if you look at the story, making all games look rather dull(story wise), and that makes it hard to pick one,(well I liked the portal(s) story, but it was to short to be named the best story). Anyway I suspect that Witcher 2(or 1) can have the best story, or at least the witcher books wear grate, but i have not acutely played the Witcher games more than a few minutes, so I can´t really say what games has the best story.

Multiplayer: easily team fortress 2 , only thing missing is making it easy to make your one servers(think L4D2, but if you make a server you are admin of it.)
