I would like to know where you fellow Escapists like to sit down and play your games, or how you like the room to look or weather to be.

Mine personally is my dark room, lights off with the window open, thunderstorm outside on a warm spring day, and that smell you that drifts around during and after a thunderstorm drifts in through the window. That is my perfect gaming environment.

I like it to be raining really hard while I play my games. I don't know I think it just makes the battles seem more epic.

For some reason I like it to either be cold or rainy. Maybe it's because I don't like glare on my TV when I play or I just like the weather to be.....cold or rainy.

Actually, the game is supposed to be atmospheric enough for me to forget where I am. So it doesn't really matter, if the game pulls me in, that's all the atmosphere needed!

Pouring rain with the window open so I get a cool breeze and the noise of the rain.

I like to play at 3am when there's nobody in the streets and everything is completely silent. (And I like to have a lamp behind the screen, it makes it easier on the eyes).

Those late, gray, rainy evenings, when night is beginning to fall and the orange light pours from the windows.

That, my friend, is the best atmosphere for almost everything, including gaming.

I like the rain too, because the way my sun shines into my room it dazzles me and I have to shut the curtains.

Also playing Enter The Matrix: Path of Neo when it's dark out side and it's raining is just

Excellent!

Nothing better than sitting by a warm fireplace while snow is falling silently outside the window. That's perfect for anything, really: it's great for reading a book, and it's great for playing video games. Especially story-based ones. I also tend to use my headphones, even when there's no one else around. It simply sounds better, especially when I'm playing a shooter or something where stereo really comes into play: headphones do a pretty good job of using stereo to emulate surround sound.

Late night. House is silent. Raining. Dark room. Laying down. Feet covered. 2 Liter of Pepsi. Hot pocket.

I prefer it when the room is relatively cold. Makes me feel sharper. And gives me an excuse to wrap up in a blanket. ♥

I love it when it's raining, mid afternoon and sort of chilly. That's perfect for me.

Depends. If I am playing something like Fallout, then quiet, no disruptions. Just me and the game.

But a lot of other games I actually prefer to play with people around. Ratchet and Clank is an example of a game that typically wouldn't be played in a group that we like to play levels of. Racing games I also play like this. I think it's because I've played this way for a long time, with my brothers, that I like to trade off levels as we put it.

I play in almost any atmosphere. I love playing early in the morning(7am-10am) at noon when the sun's blazing hot in the afternoon and in the cool evening. Come rain, shine or hail, I'm up for a game. I won't play if the temperature's blazing hot; I just get uncomfortable and lose all interest in the game. I don't like playing in places where the outside noises block out the game's noises. I can do it with some games, but for most it's just annoying.

I love it when its raining outside and when I am visiting my parents because they have a sweet widescreen TV. My friends being there is a plus, but I also enjoy playing alone.
