There is a theory that the Aether Foundation are evil or at least have some sinister undertones, thoughts do you agree or disagree

I wouldn't at all be surprised if this was the case. Hell, I've been pushing it since I saw them. There's no way that there would be a second team in the game and have them be 100% good. Team Skull is the obvious bad guy here, but we don't know what they are doing. All we know is that they, at one point, have tried to capture a Pokemon to sell.

They could be working for Aether, they could just be trying to make a buck. Hell, given their propensity for rooting for the underdog, they could be selling Pokemon to people who don't have any. The leader himself admits that he's a loser who could never become captain. None of the villains we have seen have been so self-aware of who or what they are.

The female leader is also revealed to care for her underlings. Once again, not something that the villains have done in the past.

Not saying that Team Skull are the good guys. But I do think that it would be hilarious if the Aether Foundation was evil. If only to screw with people who started crushing on Wicke and drawing so much fanart of her because she's "thicc" as the kids say.

I doubt it will have the effect you want. It's the internet and Rule 34 still holds true...

They should stop with the "villainous" teams. They are stupid. The only ones that were good were the ones in Black and White cause...they werent evil criminals, so when they dont shoot you for interfering, it makes sense, cause they were just extreme activists. Yet in X and Y they just let you march in and take the Legendary Pokemon from them.

(Sure Ghetsis tried to take over the world, but that was at the end...and was also dumb)

Eh, there should be some sub-plot with a little conflict, at least. Just taking on the gyms and other trainers is too straightforward.

Im not saying dont have plot. Like I said, I liked B&W cause the antagonist, sans Ghetsis arent evil criminals, and N is a great character too. If you removed Ghetsis, the plot would have been completely fine. Maybe Aqua and Magma get a pass too cause they were more fanatics, but not necessarily murderous and wanted to just harness the power of Legendary Pokemon.

I thought it was super obvious they are bad. Big Whitewashing evil corp, if anything I think team skull and you might team up to fight the horrendous space aliens that Aether is summoning especially because team skulls leader wanted to be an Island captain so he cares about his home

I don't think they're completely evil, I think they're trying to create the ultimate Pokemon and in the process created the ultimate creatures that have now escaped thanks to Lillie which is the first human to successfully merge with a Pokemon which is why in the trailer we see Lusamine, Hau, and the male protagonist looking at UB-01 all surprised, they want to help their friend/fix their mistakes and Lillie in turn hates pokemon due to her being merged to one

I don't think it will stop. I just think it'll mess with them a little bit.

I don't see how they are any more shady than everyone else in the Pokemon-verse.

Kids go into the wild, instead of you know, getting an education and bettering themselves, in order to attack random animals living free in the wild. They beat the shit out of them, imprison them in a spatial prison so they can carry them wherever, torturing them with training until they're broken and conditioned to obey their captors every command, and then force them to fight other creatures for their amusement. And their culture encourages the participants to continue capturing these creatures, why? Because "Gotta catchem all!"

To say that the people who say "yep, we're doing this for profit" are somehow more "evil" than everyone else participating is a bit hypocritical. At least they are honest about using the pokemon for personal gain, instead of everyone else acting as if they are somehow being noble.

The fact that the Aether Foundation has grunts and admins pretty much means you have to battle them.

I suspect they're a low-quality Team Galactic rip off.
"We're creating a new Utopia"
"Ho?"
"We must torture and/or kill hundreds/thousands/all of the Pokemon/people on Earth"
"1v1 me U cheeki genocidal shit"

I think they are the main antagonistic force in the game, but I don't think they are 'evil' more likely they're going to end up being a "knight templar" style antagonist, going too far in what they see as the greater good, similar to N from 5th gen and to an extent Lysandre (I do know if I spelled that right) from 6th gen

I just point something which the author Bogleech said in his blog.
The Ultra Beasts, the no-pokemom creatures are base so far to "invasive pests". Meaning they are creatures who cause trouble around the world....
In other words let just now they are just aliens as well.

Who are the bad guys? Who knows. But the UB will have more species to fight than a jellyfish, a cockroache and a mosquito.
I hope for a scary rat.

And arguably Cyrus.

And arguably Archie and Maxie.

Well first, explain the concept you're trying to convey, and then I'll let you know.

I don't think they're evil. I think they'll pull a Tony Stark and create the Ultra Beasts as a botched attempt at trying to create something to improve the quality of life for people and Pokemon.

They're not exactly going to restrain a kid whose Machamp just singlehandedly beat up around 30 other Pokemon..

And its a kids game. they understandably avoid any mention of guns.

Sure, they could remove all villains on the basis that "they'd just shoot you", but there wouldn't be any kind of light plot there.
Just because it wants to be kid friendly, doesnt mean it needs to be stupid. Just make it more believable. I dont think you need such outlandish antagonists to have a plot either.
