Be you liberal or conservative, when is it alright to shout out of turn during anything like a butthurt first grader? When the only appropriate responses to a presidential debate are polite applause or silence, why scream out at the president?
What reactions do people have to this?

You read that too huh? Hehe I thought it fine. Not the action in itself, that was a dickmove. But it only rallied the republican base, and showed Obama in a better light. I read that his approval numbers went up to some extent after that.

It's nice that someone has the balls to say that, albeit in an irritatingly childish way.

Don't care if you agree or disagree with the President, when he's giving an address to Congress on national television about something as serious and important as health care, you show respect. You didn't see anybody interrupting Bush during his State of the Union address. This is just another example of partisan bullshit that's keeping us from getting anything done. The president is trying to talk about it and all you wanna do is yell like an immature prat. Ridiculous.

It seemed rather inappropriate and childish to me. I guess they have the right to scream out if they really feel the need to do so, but it seems extremely unprofessional and disrespectful. You'd think it would hurt their party image and stance, but who knows.

It's about President Obama's health care speech earlier today (US).

Exactly. Even at their most craven, Democrats never shouted shit out during an address.

Actually, it seems there was some booing and yelling at the 2005 state of the union. It's mostly inaudible because of how many people were doing it.

Although it does sound like some people told Bush "no" when he made a statement (which is basically another way of saying you're wrong/lying), but I cannot completely verift this, again, due to too many voices speaking at once.

There is this type of behavior on both sides, but probably not all members.

what he did was fair enough and took some balls, although the sentiment expressed was pure republican bullshit.

yeah, Bush was booed occasionally during the 2005 state of the union, but I don't know if it was a general low-level thing, or from an easily identifiable individual.

it's irrelevant, though. when the president speaks, you listen and show respect, no matter who the president happens to be. acting like a child only reduces the capacity for proper debate. just because one side did it, it doesn't justify the other side doing the same (not saying anyone has justified it, yet, just throwing it out there)

I didn't see it but the guys an assbag for doing that. However, I would like to ask, was Obama wearing his gigantic new tool belt?

Really?
So Obama's not lying about the cost of the health care bill?

No way.
So I guess those quotes from the bill are wrong then...

by sentiment i mean the general, inexplicable, hatred for healthcare for reform the republican party seem to have. you'll have to excuse me for not knowing the specifics, i only know what the BBC reports.
either way, didn't he shout that when obama was speaking about the programme not being for illegal immigrants? i assumed that was what he was specifically calling a lie.

What I was referring to as a lie was that the White House said they took out 100 million in amendments, seemingly forgetting that they added another 100 million the same day.

In the taxing section of the bill, it also says "This tax shall not be treated as a tax."

The whole thing is ridiculously broken.

But yes, he was referring to coverage for illegal immigrants.
Of course, hospitals have to treat anyone who goes there for emergency service, so really, illegals will be covered. Just like they are now.

I'm not entirely sure about the sentiment being false. He may have simply been referring to the Congression Research Service that says illegals could theoretically be covered.

The information may or may not be outdated now due to bill revisions, but I do not think the statement should be considered a completely partisan attack, since he probably was going off something that once (and may still be) true.

Put up a flame shield now! Now! Please! I can't let you go on with saying that without being prepared for much flame!

oh, okay, seems Obama's not doing such a good job on the whole healthcare thing.
still, at least he's trying, and god knows he's got one hell of a lot of misguided opposition to it.
