The Movie's is well animated like this, some of the battles were pretty good too.

I swear the big fire dog totally broke the neck of that non-Ekans snake thing. I think the whole, shooting its flailing corpse with an ice beam was a tad overkill.

I can say 'completely badass'; Completely badass. Though what does that have to do with this new Pokemon cartoon? All I'm seeing is the same old shtick to the tune of campy J-rock.

And in terms of its more intense tone, Shaman King was there about 14 years ago.

I probably would watch that. I would also watch an anime based on the Pokemon Adventures/Pokemon special manga, as that would be awesome.

To make pokemon interesting as an anime again i say make a teen/adult version and let there be some fucking blood.

The bit where Arcanine bit into Seviper mid-air was pretty badass. That's the kind of thing i want to see. I suppose that's why i only bothered to watch the gym battles in the later generations and even those've been pretty tame over-all.

Pokemon should not be made serious. It is a game about cute animals fighting and love and friendship and blah blah blah. Trying to make it into Naruto/Bleach/whatever just seems like a bad move to me.

I thought this was like a anime spin off series which I admit was impressed with the new animation make over and the somewhat mature tone from it.
However I just check Serebii that it is in fact a movie so there goes my excitement for it. EDIT- Ok maybe it isn't as it is a intro movie.
