While I can clearly see how the points put across in that video do have some relevence in the context of the discussion over whether violent video games cause real world violence I somehow doubt that any measure of evidence will dissuade the 'anti-gaming' crowd.

For the most part these people have already made their decision about what the truth is and seek out articles and studies to prove their side of the debate (often with little consideration to the limitations and problems of said materials), you could get the entirety of the scientific community to unanimously support you in saying that video games do not cause violence and it would still have little impact because for a lot of these individuals it's a belief.

You can't change the mind of someone who is acting out of belief (and in a lot of cases, your attempts at trying to persuade or reason with them will just make them proverbially bunker down and be even less willing to listen).

I can admit that, for maybe a minute after playing a particularly violent game I may be a little bit more predisposed to violent, impulsive behavior. But once I disconnect from that games reality and come back to real life, that's gone.

VIDEOGAMES!!! on FOX

Did you know that video games are used by COMMUNISTS!?
That rapists, child molesters and murderers may have played a game in the past?
Is this the kind of MONSTER you want your child to turn into?! If so YOU ARE A BAD MOTHER!

Studies show that performing violence in videogames causes the VICTIM to interpret the games content as VIOLENT!!!

So believe us when we say VIDEOGAMES....THE EVIL INCARNATE!!!

And now, a word from our sponser.....LISTEN WELL!!!
