Hello Escapist. I was just thinking about how far back I could remember and I thought it would make a fine thread (according to the search bar this topic has been dead for a full year).
What is the earliest memory you can remember? Why do you think it sticks out?

My earliest memory is in a small waiting room for something. My mom looks, well, more than a dozen years younger. I remember her smile, the room had striped wallpaper like a zebra and there was one of these toys. [http://www.custom-product.com/upload/1887/1912uij1/wooden-toy---bead-frame-yf9302-395.jpg]
I was taken into a doctors office with blue wallpaper. I was given a needle, I remember being really upset about it but I was given a round, cherry lollipop. I remember that the light was kind of dim. That's it.
Why does this memory stick out? I have no idea whatsoever. Maybe the colours were interesting? I remember looking at my Mom... A staring contest? She said we used to have those... The needle's easy, probably the start of my phobia (I'm over that now). I have no idea why I remember what was so memorable about that toy.
But that's my earliest memory. I wonder if I'll still be able to recall it in another ten years.
