I haven't done many speed runs - I don't have the patience. I have, however, played certain games so many times, that I've worn them down to a science.

40 minutes: Solstice, NES
11 hours: Resident Evil 4, Wii

What are your fastest runs?

FF7 about 14 hours, final fantasy tactics like 12 or something. I think YEARS ago I beat ff6 in about 11 hours, I totally forget. FF4 7 hours but was the easy SNES version.

I remember ff6 being especially fun because I had to seriously plan out which characters I would have time to recruit / level up in the dark world. At the end I think I think I beat it with 7, the third party had to be 3 and have higher levelled characters because you could not vanish / doom one of the statues.

I've only done one speedrun in my life - Kingdom Hearts II, in just under 8 hours. Only made possible by religiously skipping every cutscene and blasting through the game on easy mode without grinding. Just for comparison, I checked a save file where I'd let all the cutscenes run and had grinded (ground?) for a good while and the clock was up at 40 hours, so heaven only knows just how much of that game is cutscene.

Me and my mate just finished NFS: The Run in 1 hour and 37 minutes. Not sure if that's speed playing though? There was speed involved. Maybe it's just short.

I've heard that game is just really short anyway with an average playthrough taking about 2 hours.

OT: I don't really do speed runs, I prefer to take my time, but I recently finished Portal 2 for the first time and it took me about 9 hours.

I started a run through of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. SoC I've spent 2 months (game time) of playing through it and still haven't gotten bored, yes my kill tally is about the same as small war.

When I bought a new 360 last year I lost all my ME1 and 2 saves. I thought I'd redone them all, but just realized that I havn't got a Paragon MaleShep that hooks up with Tali in ME2.

I would love to complete a runthrough before friday (when I get ME3) but I have all the DLC, and my last playthrough (Paragon FemShep, Thane as Love interest) with all the missions, side missions, loyalty missions and DLC complete took 46 hours...

I don't think I've got a chance!

Dont really do speedruns personally (im a snail) but friend of mine did resident evil 1 remake (gamecube) runs in around hour and a half. You unlock something if i recall if you complete it in under 3 hours. Yeah he played that game to death.

Metal Gear Solid 4 on The Boss Extreme, no kills, no alerts, no special items, no health items, no continues in 4 hours 46 minutes. I was pretty proud of myself.

I'm rather sure I could speedrun Portal 2 if I so desired. But that would mean I'd miss more than 60% of Wheatley's epic dialogue and that's not gonna happen. Seriously if you let him he can ramble on forever...

He can spend five minutes talking about how the hum of a laser will help him think while mentioning the obvious button in the room that you should definitely not push because we don't know what it does.

Epic.

And I could "speedrun" Persona 4. But come on, if you're blazing through the entire story you're doing it wrong.

All the games i'm really good at and really like are the heavily story based games that aren't really worth speedrunning. I know I could but i'd rather not

It wasn't an actual speedrun attempt but on my second playthrough of Portal Steam says I only took 72 minutes. I thought that was pretty damn quick, but I guess if you were trying it'd be less than half of that.

Duke Nukem Forever on Hard mode: Beat that bastard in nearly four hours. I didn't mean for it to be a speed-run but once you stop messing around with pinball machines and whatnot the game becomes a lot shorter (and the fun is drained too)

I did Mirror's Edge in about 5 or 6 hours, I'm pretty sure that's no where near the fastest but that's the best I've done haha.

Did the same, but on The Boss Extreme and in 03:47:09. I got really obsessed with shaving off a few more minutes at one point. Although, I've seen some speedruns that clocked in at under 2 hours 30 minutes.

Portal in half an hour. Not that fast considering it's portal but I don't think that's too bad a time.
