Ok then lets get the ball rolling, whats your faviorite character from a game, it can be a player, npc, boss doesnt matter.

If you want you can go into detail about your choice. Mine would have to be....

Grom Hellscream from the warcraft universe, a character steeped in lore and a long history from the game series even after death his legacy lives on with interesting if not a-typical redemption story and loads of other stuff.

Your turn.

*EDIT*
Having read through a few coments for the sake of what i can asume is most peoples sanity multiple choice is fine, i guess having a definative one is pretty hard with so many great characters.

I don't really have an all time favorite, I generally a couple favorites from each mythos. In WarCraft, I'd have to go with Sylvannas Windrunner. She spent her life as a general in the armies of the High Elven kingdom, a peerless archer, but then the scourge came. She watched in horror as, despite her best efforts, her people were slaughtered. And eventually she herself was killed, but wasn't given peace. Instead she's forced to live on as an undead. But that didn't slow her down. Once the Lich King's power began to fail she took the opportunity to carve out a place for her new people to live (sort of), to be free, and to slaughter anyone who would dare try to shackle them down again. And of course, get vengeance on those who abandoned them once the Lich King's mind control faded.

Though the series I'm focused on right now is dragon age, and if I really had to pick one, it'd be one who died before the first game started. King Maric Theirin. Little more than a child when the Orlesians practically enslaved Fereldan, but with help from his friend Loghain mac Tir, he drove back the Orlesians and reclaimed Fereldan. Also he fathered one of the most badass snarkers to ever walk Thedas, Alistair. Because swooping....*puts on sunglasses*....is bad.

Yoshi, it's a shoe wearing dinosaur that can shoot fireballs, watermelon seeds, and ice. Occasionally, (frequently) it'll eat enemies and turn them into eggs. He also has a flutter kick. Adorable and weird.

It's not possible to choose just one!

I adore Dragon Age's Alistair. He was incredibly well written by Bioware, being funny, romantic, flawed and impossibly heroic all at the same time. I don't think he ever left my party once. His story unfolding really gripped me, and I thought it was great the way he could end up in extremely different circumstances at the games end, depending on your actions.

I'm crazy about FFVII's Vincent Valentine as well, on account of being silent and tragic and romantic(ish) and, frankly, hot as hell. His voice alone is enough to make me need a cold shower.

There's more. Bayonetta gets a thumbs up from me, because whilst she kicks arse in the most outlandish ways possible, whilst still looking good. Besides, have you seen her shoes? I want those.

Ezio of Assassin's Creed and John Marsten from Red Dead should get honourable mentions too. Again, both are well rounded and well realised characters with backstories and motivations and personalities.

Uhh... I have to choose just one? 'Cause that's a pretty long list.

...

Nope, can't do it. I'll just pick one at random.

Here we go:

Urdnot Wrex. A great, grumpy lumbering hulk who simply does not give a shit. Except when he does.

Meeting him again in ME2 delivered more emotional payoff than some entire games have managed to produce.

Max Payne probably. Or Jackie Estacado. We need more heroes like them.
I'll second The Darkness' Jackie Estacado. The game was already more amazingly well written and fun than I expected for the $5 bargin I nabbed it for, but Jackie ended up being only character, let alone in an FPS, that I was every genuinely emotionally invested in; his plight and his vengence were my own... Saddest. Ending. EVER.

Dutch - Red Dead Redemption.
He knew that civilasation would be the death of him and tried to stick to a savage nature thinking that the strongest and fearless would survive. In the end he tried to give John the same warning and died before allowing civilasation to kill him or worse, kill his mind.

'Our Time Has Passed, John.'
