Your Favorite Colossi

For those of you, like me, who have played Shadow of the Colossus (and you've no excuse not to have played it) What is your favorite/all time most memorable Colossus/Colossi.

For me, it's a tie between [url:http://shadowofthecolossus.wikia.com/wiki/Gaius]Number 3[/url] and [url:http://shadowofthecolossus.wikia.com/wiki/Malus]Number 16[/url].

Number 3 because he was the first one that really drove it home how tiny I am in this game, and Number 16 because the first time I saw him all I could think was, "Well...shit."

Well excuuuse me for not knowing when he's gonna flap his wings.

But yeah, that fellow was also annoying, until I figured out what I was supposed to do. Then it just got repetitive. Then again, 16 was kind of similar, though my main issue with him was his stupid amount of health. I acutally remember yelling at my t.v., "Just die already!"

I love them all and this thread has inspired me to go play SotC right now. If I had to choose a favorite, I would say that the bird was my favorite. Honorable mentions are the sand worm (the tunneler, not the flyer) and the lake serpent. They're all great though.

Colossi #15: Argus. Argus is an incredibly fun battle, and the music that plays during the battle ramps up the epic to untold proportions.


If you did not feel beyond badass taking down Argus to music this epic, you're doing it wrong! >[](Youtube is trying to tell me otherwise, but this song is what played while I fought him)

Colossi #6: Barba was also a tense battle that kept me on my toes.

If you did not feel beyond badass taking down Argus to music this epic, you're doing it wrong! >[]

Well, he actually has two pieces, the first that plays when he first shows up, and then this one, it plays during the first fight as well, starts when you do...whatever it is you need to do to get onto him.

Yeah, I listened to the other(because I didn't know the titles to the pieces) and it sounded similar, but Gatekeeper of the Castle Ruins is a bit more mellow than The Opened Way. I love both pieces, but The Opened Way just screams epic. Also it's been forever since I played the game, so I forgot entirely that GotCR plays. x,x

No worries, and I totally agree. In my mind, Gatekeeper is the setup, and Opened Way is the followthrough.

SotC still sits resolutely in my top five of all time. The only reason it's not higher is because I'm a sap for a happy ending.

That first one gave me more trouble than any of the others, to figure out how I'm going to get onto it. x___x

I hated this guy. I kept falling off.

I had trouble actually getting any hits in near the end of the battle because he'd shake me off before I got the chance. :x

The sheer scale of the whole Gaius battle makes me giddy just thinking about it. By far my favorite colossus.

Two of my favorite fights go to Avion and Phalanx (Dragon). Not only are they the two most heart-pounding, intense fights in the game, but they're also captivating to watch. I even got my friends who don't normally play video games to play these fights when I failed miserably a couple times. They didn't want to stop.

My overall favorite fight is against Dirge. Fighting him makes me scream like a little mangirl. Just look at those eyes...
