So, lets have some laughs, we need them. So, post your favorite comedians and your favorite skits by them.

I personally like the "Blue Collar" comedians, such as

Although, considering the topics of their comedy, it may be an acquired taste/you have to be the right demographic to get it. I am interested to see who the most popular on here is. Just a guess, but I would say George Carlin or Bill Hicks.

Oh I have loads of them but some choice ones;

The first of his kind and still the master.

Fucking hilarious man, wish I could find the clip of his homeopathy rant for you.

Excellent comic, saw him live not long ago, he really does just say whatever he wants and it's hilarious.

I'm going to be boring and choose a few big names because...well...they're the only ones I know.

My absolute favorite is Jim Gaffigan. The right amount of extreme goofiness combined with silly works perfectly for the guy. Minimal story teller, just a lot of quick jokes about a ton of different things.

Now...the guy who may get me comedically crucified but I do like him; Dane Cook. He's the very opposite of Gaffigan in that his jokes are usually long ass stories. For whatever reason, a lot of people I know just don't like that he tells stories rather than jokes.

Off the top of my head, Eddie Izzard and Louis CK. I like Carlin a lot as well but was never a big fan.

I grew up watching Jim Carrey films, so he will always be my favorite I think. When I got older I listened to a lot of Louis CK and Dane Cook. I am not really picky in my stand up comedy though, I find most people enjoyable. It is just when I hear Dane Cook, Louis CK or even Seinfeld, I often think to myself, "That is so true". Not that I watch a lot of stand up, I usually just turn it on if it is late and I want to listen to something as I fall asleep. So lots of Seinfeld, Cheers and Frasier.

I am more into romantic comedies over the more absurd kind. So I also grew up watching a lot of Hugh Grant. Love him.

I like quite a few comedians, such as

Gabriel Iglesias

George Carlin

Eddie Izzard

There are a load more like, Louis CK, Bill Hicks and Jeffrey Ross, but I find them three to be the most memorable

Louis CK -No comedian has ever made me laugh more than him. I've laughed to the point of crying many times because of him.
George Carlin -Not only his he hilarious, he actually has a lot of insightful commentary on our society.
Ricky Gervais -A lot of funny, dark humor.

I love Bill Hicks, Steve Hughes and, to a lesser extent, Will Anderson and Jimmy Carr.

I absolutely can't stand Carlin, Gervais, Louis CK or others in that vein. Even Dylan Moran is only just bearable, despite Black Books being excellent.

Well, besides Jim Carry and Robbin Williams, most of the comedians I like either were black or had a special shown on Comedy Central... However, the ones that I watched the most (besides the ones I already mentioned) were:

Dave Chappelle
Louis CK
Bill Cosby
Carlos Mencia
Richard Pryor
Gabriel Iglesias
Chris Rock
Brody Stevens
Kevin Hart
Sarah Silverman
Eddie Murphy
Jeff Dunham
DL Hughley
George Carlin
Martin Lawrence
Michael Ian Black

And I never forget my favorite nerd, Chris Hardwick!

Mitch Hedberg. Quite a few people will probably say he wasn't that funny. I enjoyed his humour. His jokes and style always felt laid-back, goofy, and refreshingly clean compared to how gross other comedians can be.

-I bought a doughnut and they gave me a receipt for the doughnut. I don't need a receipt for the doughnut. I'll just give you the money, and you give me the doughnut, end of transaction. We don't need to bring ink and paper into this. I just can't imagine a scenario where I would have to prove that I bought a doughnut. Some skeptical friend: "Don't even act like I didn't get that doughnut! I got the documentation right here...oh, wait it's at home...in the file...under "D", for "doughnut."-

-I think Bigfoot is blurry, that's the problem. It's not the photographer's fault. Bigfoot is blurry, and that's extra scary to me. There's a large, out-of-focus monster roaming the countryside. Run, he's fuzzy, get out of here.-

Doug Stanhope, easily. He's a present day prophet breaking down society into it's darkest, dirtiest components.
He's dark with a purpose, and I find myself quoting his stuff all the time.

My favorite I guess are angry white guys: George Carlin, Lewis Black.
I listened to a lot of Bill Cosby when I was a kid; I had a bunch of his records.

Phyllis Diller, (Post 2012.. because she, um, kind of died) Johhny Vegas, Russel Howard, that kind of vague sounding and ditzy but sharp-witted Irish woman whose name I can't remember...

I don't really know many comedians, but those four are probably my favourite.

My favourites are, fitting my generic personality, are all generic and common for British people. We don't really have many comedians.

Edit: How could I forget? Stephen Fry. Because his last name means what you do to chips.

I like comedians such as Jeff Dunham and the boys of the Blue Collar Comedy tour... as well as the scathing humor of folks like Richard Pryor, Lewis Black, and George Carlin.

...Yeah, I have a weird taste in comedy...

Pandora is really good for finding new comedians, plus there's almost never ads like there are with the music stations. Make a station for a comedian you like, and see who else pops up.

Kyle Kinane
Dan Cummins
Maria Bamford
Jim Gaffigan
Hannibal Buress
Daniel Tosh
Louis CK
Patton Oswalt
John Mulaney
Doug Benson
