I love anime series that have a lot of comedy in them.. as well as anime that are primarily about comedy.. sometimes the comedy is the best part of some anime and can make up for parts of an anime that might not be as great... some of my favorite are

Pani Poni Dash

Bleach

Soul Eater is another that has a lot of humor in it... like these gems:

Patty turned her test paper into a giraffe somehow

oh and the maka chop.. we can't forget that

What are some of your favorite funny parts in a anime?

When it comes to actually making me laugh, not laughing at how stupid the show is being, my list is quite small.

Baka and Test had me laughing at least once an episode. I'd try and find some, but clips are hard to come by.

Haganai has made me laugh with the famous roller coaster scene and Rika's delusional yaoi rant.

Seitokai Yakuindomo simple put as the Robot Chicken of anime.

The Devil is a Part-Timer! The title is already funny and the things that occur in that show just crack me up. Season 2 better be happening.

Cromartie High School is funny in an acid trip kind of way. And Golden Boy.... Golden Boy is essentially a series of Judd Apatow movies. Over the top sex comedy.

The Devil is a Part Timer (aka Hatarakou Maou-Sama or something like that) is not only the funniest anime I've ever seen, it's easily in my top 5 anime. Absolutely hilarious all the way through with great characters. If there's no Season 2 I don't even know what I'll do.

Working!! (aka Wagnaria!!) was damn good too.

My standard disclaimer--I'm *old* the series I like/recommend tend to be older....

Urusei Yatsura: the Return of Lum tops the list of hilarious anime for me, with Irresponsible Captain Tylor close behind. Other greats are Project A-ko, Galaxy Angel, Galaxy Fraulien Yuna, Ranma 1/2 and Martian Successor Nadesico.

I will second (third?) the 'The Devil is a Part Timer' and 'Working!!' suggestions. Recently 'D-Frag!' and 'My Ordinary Life' have proven to be humorous and delightfully random. With regards to the latter of those I've got two words for you: deer suplex.

The Baka to Test series is a complete classic, the first episode alone is really funny. Speaking of Nichijou

The amount of videos paired with that song is awesome, it really does go with everything.

Even more hype than the original.

Definately Azumanga Daioh. It's like Peanuts meets Wes Anderson meets high school girls. You could say a lot of it is cutesy poo humor, but it's generally so dry that it never becomes sticky. It always remains fluffy. And it doesn't stop a lot of the characters from being quite dick-ish occasionally, two of whom being dicks 24/7. But it never becomes mean spirited, eventhough most of the humor is at the expense of other characters, like this one...

It's probably my favourite anime show at this point. But then nearly all of my favourite anime shows are comedies, such as Golden Boy and Nichijou.

Again - although by now I probably sound like a broken record - I'm gonna go with Lovely Complex. It's one of my feel good animes. Another one is Tokyo Godfathers. Love that movie.

Gotta agree here, it's just light-hearted joking around without it becoming tedious or creepy. Hell, even Kimura's kind of likeable, despite him being the textbook old pervert type.

Oh, and never get into a car with Yukari if you didn't bring your brown pants.

Ah yes, Yukari, the Cartman of anime. She's never too busy to try and poison a student from her rival's class so she can win a sporting event. =)

One of the reason why I love One Piece is the comedy aspect to that show. Sure other Shonen shows got comedy aswell but One Piece got alot of it. This is one of my favourite moment back in the old days of One Piece
Anyway who had got hit by a rubberband know full well how painful it can be!!

Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei: Suicide and crippling depression are always funny.

Also the examples in OP remind me just why I can't watch so much anime. Sorry, but I just cannot handle that stuff. I'd sooner laugh at my own enema.

I really like Squid girl and Baka and test, but my favourite is probably Hetalia. I like how each sketch is fairly short and simple and it never fails to make me at least smile.

I also think the commentator is perfect for this anime as well. I can't recommend it enough.

The only anime scene to have actually made me laugh out loud for more than a few seconds was the completely unexpected, unexpanded and unexplained scene in Samurai Champloo

Failing that, the entirety of Ghost Stories (the english version of course, that was hysterical)

Hands down, Inferno Cop is the funniest anime I've ever seen. Basically a bunch of animators with no budget making fun of anime tropes in the most irreverent and ridiculous ways possible.

The whole thing is free (legally) on YouTube and each episode is only 2-8 minutes long. You can blow through it in an hour or two easily.

NINJA'D ALREADY?! HOW?!

OT: I've been on a bit of a slice-of-life kick lately. Let's see...

This dog clip from Nichijou is one of my favourites

There's always the perfection that is Azumanga Daioh

Another great series is My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU (yes, it's quite a mouthful)

I wish I had time to hunt for more clips
