I'm talking about those times when a game makes you go "Wow, I can't believe that just happened!"
For me It was Halo:CE when I first played it. There were some pretty awesome setpieces in that game.

Yep, Halo:CE was very special to me. But I'm going to have to say the grunt dance party in Halo:Reach, It was just so funny.

One of my more recent ones would be the first appearance of a Rathalos in Monster Hunter Freedom. You're still low level, been taking on blue raptors and killing docile herbivores for meat, then this guy shows up in all his cut-scene glory that just dropped my jaw before the instinct to run away kicked in at the sheer size of him.

And run away I did. The first time at least.

I had a moment in Halo Reach that made me laugh my ass off if thats worth anything.

I was co oping the campaign with a friend and we were in the last level and he ran ahead of me to kill some grunts and I saw an elite throw a garnade at him. only it got stuck on a pillar/railing thing right next to the elite and instead of running away it just ducked its head and got killed by its own garnade. I couldnt stop laughing

In Fire Emblem when...

Hector finds Armads and the Axe's spirit says that he will allow Hector to use him...but that Hector will not die peacefully, but in war on the battlefield.
To which Hector responds with "I don't Care, my friends need me, and i don't care what happens to me, I WILL FIGHT(im paraphrasing btw, cant remember exactly what he says).

*sniff*
