Your favorite Miracle of Sound song?!

So I've been re-listening to some of our own master musicians songs lately, music that he's been making over the past years for our enjoyment (thank you for that Gav!).
There are too many to make a poll, and most are very good, according to me, but we all have one or two that stick out from the rest. I want you to tell me which one is your favorite (you can pick 2, I'm nice like that ;D).

I have two songs I've noticed I've been listening to on a daily basis these last 2 weeks. Before, if someone asked, my favorite would've been The Joker Song. But as of late I've been really drawn to New Black Gold (have played the game) and Age of the Dragon (haven't played this one).

I am a MetalHead and listen mainly to Rock and Metal, but damn Gavin can make good music in all genres! I like especially New Black Gold since it has a message which talks about the troubles of the society of its time, which are things my favorite bands have written lyrics about and my favorite songs are about good lyrical messages, or true stories (of course the song itself has to be good too, but that's a matter of taste isn't it...).

So post your favorite Miracle of Sound song here, no extra reasoning needed if you don't feel like it, so I can listen to it as well

I think it's a tie between Higher Tonight because I like electronic music and the dancing in the video really ties it together and Calamity because it's just really effing good and reminds me of Bastion. There are several others I like but these are the two I return to most often.

I always have loved Mortal Kombat Party [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/miracle-of-sound/3323-Mortal-Kombat-Party], it may be my favorite overall. I've always hit replay on Mortal Kombat Party and I love its music video. Gordan Freeman Saved My Life was always in my car stereo's mix and Trip to Vegas really captures the experience of playing the buggy launch version of Vegas.

My favorite would be either Sovngarde Song or Dream of the Sky. They encapsulate the spirit of two of my favorite games.

Oh, it seems unfair to pick a favourite. They're all so good! Whatever his most recent song is usually features heavily in my music rotation.

The New Black Gold (particularly the 2013 version - the way he sings the "honeycomb" line) is probably up there as the one I listen to the most.

But since you already picked that I'll pick another couple.


Much like the honeycomb line from The New Black Gold, I particularly like the way he sings the "fanfiction" line from Breaking Down The Borders.


The changes in the style of the song, whilst still managing to be coherent as a song and encapsulating Bioshock Infinite is impressive in itself. The fact that it's a great song in its own right is just extra

First of all is Calamity. Bastion is one of my all-time favorite games, and Calamity fits it so well.

Second is His Father's Son. I heavily disliked AC3, but am willing to forgive it for quite a lot for inspiring this masterpiece.

Love this and Beauty Bleak. Fallout songs are just the best! I am more looking forward to a new Fallout just for new MoS songs

I love pretty much all of his songs, and they actually make up a considerable part of the music I listen to. If I were to pick favourites though, there really are only two I can go with at the moment.

First is easy; it's in the lyrics even! "You'll never be better than Commander Shepard".

Other than that, I've lately been extremely into All as One (I guess it doesn't hurt that I'm also very much into Inquisition at the moment). It's so epic and beautiful, and I just love the music video for it as well.

The New Black Gold (I prefer the first one) has to be one of my big favorites, but it's sooo hard to choose.


Wake the White Wolfs metal version comes close to the top too.

Well, people have already posted a lot of the ones I would say (Sovngarde Song, New Black Gold, both versions of Wake the White Wolf), so I'll put some less appreciated songs into the mix.

First off there's Santiago's Lament and Redemption Blues, which I love love love for their haunting bluesy sounds.



Santiago's Lament I love in particular, because just when you're just listening to the lyrics, it doesn't necessarily sound like a Gears of War song. It can be a tribute to loves lost in general. And let's be honest, the fact that he made such a touching song based on Gears of fucking War is an accomplishment in and of itself.

Then there's a song on the most recent album called Breathe. It's great.

Depends on my mood- Gav's stuff has gotten more varied and better with time. Into the Mind is probably the one I find myself singing to myself most often lately despite never playing The Evil Within or even knowing the plot. The way I picture it, it's Inception except you're in a psychopath (the guy in the white hood)'s subconscious, and he knows you're in there.

I love "New Black Gold". It's just one I love listening to for it's great tune, plus some pretty clever lyrics.

I'm also a pretty big fan of the Commander Shepard song, but Forever Blue is by far my favourite.

I'm surprised that nobody has mentioned his newest song, All As One. I haven't played DA:I and I didn't even really like his previous song Age of the Dragon, but I'm addicted to this song lately.

Also been really into some of his non-videogame songs including Amnesia and Jet Black Dress.

I was going to say this...I love how it changes and flips around to fit the game itself

I'd also add "cries of a dead world" probably once of his more...'accessible" songs simple, but effective

After four glorious years of Miracle of Sound, my all time favorite song of his is still, far and away, "Normandy."
