What are/were your favorite parts of Fallout New Vegas?
My personal favorite part was that Mister Vegas was in no way whatsoever like Three Dog. I've listened to him throughout several entire runs through the game and never once felt the urge to track him down and put a dozen or so bullets in his head.
I also enjoyed the overall lack of forced underground/subway travel in the main quest line and the iron sights on most of the guns.

I actually enjoyed seeing some colour brought back to the wasteland, the greys from Fallout 3 were really dull to look at.

Swaggering around the wasteland with my absurdly over-compensatory minigun with armor piercing rounds mowing down vast numbers of Legionaries.

My favorite part was experiencing a game-breaking glitch concerning Mr. House and the Legionaries, preventing me advancing in the story, then quitting and launching Fallout 3 again. Good stuff.

My favorite part must have been when after like 2 weeks (bought it at launch day) THe glitches were so bad it was unplayable and THEN when they "Patched" It i went back and got a game breaking glitch stoping me from advancing. I then perceeded to yell at my friend for EVER recomending me this series. I refuse to play it. i hear its fixed but no never again i refuse to play a game so broken that was shipped and sold.

pavlov at work, people read NV and start making "witty" remarks about bugs and glitches
i really liked going around the outskirts of NV sniping fiends.

launching the ghouls to space in that rocket (well, trying anyway) was a pretty awesome moment. i wished they would've removed the karma thing altogether cause it messed up my "kill everybody" philosophy at the very end of my most recent playthrough; i got positive karma by killing caesar's legionaries along with negative karma for killing literally everyone else i encountered, and that's just arbitrary if there ever was anything arbitrary about it

Walking through Cazador territory. As frustrating as it is its probably one of the most excited experiences in the game.

Yeah, the whole "My playthrough of NV was bug ridden so its a piece of crap, and its obvious everyone had the same experience and thinks the same way" ideaology gets on my nerves from time to time.

I think one of my favourite parts was seeing that little old shady sands is now a big bear of manpower and beauracracy. Well... made me feel kinda bad at the same time... but good to see ol' aradeshes creation still up and running.

Other than that, I dont really have a favourite part. It was all a fantastic experience, no matter what all the mainstream reviewers and pessimistic and impatient gamers think.

I'm going to second no forced subways, I hated those. "Look we have this enormous world to roam around but if you want to get anywhere downtown be ready to get lost in the pitch dark for hours."

Also, hardcore mode, wish there was a little bit more to it than just numbers to manage but the idea is cool and I'd like to see more games of this style run with it.

I liked having quests that involved people on the ground instead of going into the deep underground for 20 minutes to find one item and bringing it back. When I first got the game I really loved Goodsprings. When I made my second playthrough I realized how much I missed, even though I thought I completed a big part of the game.

Having people actually react and comment on your actions and what you do to the world.
Words can't express how great that is.

Especially after Fallout 3 where no matter what I did, nobody noticed anything. Yeah people probably won't notice much in the wasteland and all, but I expect some people to react when I destroy one of the only two main areas of civilization in the entire game.

Also, having skills open up different dialog choices, and some rather humorous "low intelligent" options. Also Wild Wasteland.

What disappoints me is that people dont realise that New vegas is more deep and layered than it is given credit for. I feel sorry for oblivion, because of the success of Fallout 3 Fallout New Vegas is often seen as a buggy cash in by the uninformed. Personally I find New Vegas to be more immersive than 3.

Even though I've had it since launch day, I haven't beaten it yet. I've started a new game about five times now. I'm really enjoying the latest one though. I think it's because there are a lot more explosive type weapons in this one. And Veronica is the absolute best companion ever.

Agreed.

To me, Fallout 3 was a good game, but it was a crappy Fallout game. New Vegas is a good game, and a good Fallout game.

If that makes any sense...
