i also thought of fred, he was the "2nd" best in everything, so to me he was master chief's right hand man sort of, so i also liked him too

however after reading the books its too hard not to like master chief himself

Well because I don't know many I will have to go with the Masterchief and Spartans within the Halo Lore as all being examples of Spartans I like because they are a major part of my favourite game series even though they are obviously inferior to my kind's divine splendor.

Seeing as I never played any game with a spartan except for Halo. ill go with

Master Cheif. Though are we talking about the spartans in sparta in games or any character like master cheif that has spartan in the name?
