There are triple A games, there are indie darlings then there are the worst games of all...the games that are alright but just don't stand out. I guess there are also games that are so half-baked or, so under-developed that they shouldn't have been released but you almost always see a game like Heavenly Sword or Sonic the Hedgehog 4 getting a 6 - 8 out of 10 despite being far less interesting than a Ride to Hell or, Sonic 06.

That's what I'm asking about here; Sure, you could go back and play an Arkham game, Portal, Mario World etc but if you have access to a bad game, a really bad game, which one do you go for? Which 0 - 3/10 games have released that you think were more fun or at least more interesting than the average 7/10 or 8/10?

Out of all of the Sonic games that I've played through, I've only actually beaten a handful; Adventure, Colors DS, Lost Worlds U and, 06. Out of those four the most fun I had was with Sonic 06. The game is really glitchy, the boss fights are kinda weird, the camera is a more serious enemy than what you may encounter while running through each level and the story is goofy but all of this congealed into a The Room-esq mass of failure that I just couldn't help but admire. I wanted to see Sonic 06 through to the end just to see how many more glitches I could uncover.

There are a couple of really bad games that I'm really curious to try too...Neverdead sounds really unique for example even if it's supposedly broken. I also really like the concept of Mindjack but that's another game I haven't had a chance to play yet.

So, what bad games do you enjoy playing more than games that were considered better? What bad games are you really curious to play if you haven't played them yet and are you playing any games right now that would make your friends raise their eyebrows at you for your poor taste?

Resident Evil 6. It's one big design flaw after another, one stupid moment after another. Passably fun on co-op though.

Without a doubt Deadly Premonition. The gameplay is bad, the graphics are bad but the game just has an incredible quirky charm. With the most colorful cast of characters I've probably ever seen in a game, espescially the game's protagonist York. The driving is laughably bad but then York starts rambling about his favorite movies, which kind of makes you forget how bad it is. The game is full of moments like that. If you don't love the game's general atmosphere and characters however, than yeah this game is absolute crap. :p

Probably Mass Effect 3. Sure, most of the game goes from good to great; but that doesn't seem to stop the popular consensus of stating that its horrible ending makes it a really terrible game. At least it's really fun to play as a Vangard once you got Charge and Nova powers maxed up and enough reduced power recharge bonuses.

I've been playing through the original [Prototype] recently and I'm surprised by how much fun I am having with it, despite its flaws.

Sonic Generations and Bladestorm immediately came to mind here.

Now you might be one of those people who didn't throw a hissy fit over Sonic Generations (like all the other new Sonic games seem to illicit anyhoo)

But I might have actually purchased it for pc....

Still enjoyed it tho.

Dammit, beat me to the punch xD

There are a few games I like playing though they qualify as "bad" such as Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly, The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct and little games that I can play with friends like Shrek Super Party - that last one has been in my childhood for a looong time. Yeah, it's not a GREAT game or even a GOOD game but all the games mentioned are FUN to me, whether for nostalgia, voice actors or just that they're easy to pick up and put down.

Splatterhouse 2010. This game got absolutely pasted in reviews, but it was one of my favorite brawlers. Its stupid, its over the top to the point of ridiculousness, its campy, its got horrendous load times, the graphics are weird, the ending is "meh", the lovecraftian elements aren't implemented in the best manner (they're still fun though) its got some weird ass bugs, but its some of the most fun I've had in a game.

Absolutely fantastic soundtrack, tons of fun enemies, Rick and the Mask make an amusing character pair, and there are some truly excellent boss fights.

Bladestorm. Simplistic gameplay, graphics that weren't even very good (though not really bad either, I suppose), cheesy at best story, and incredibly terrible voice acting, bu I love that game.

I was under the impression that Sonic Generations was the best Sonic game since (or was it until) Sonic Colors. It seems like most people loved that game and the main criticisms came from the fact that there were a ton of city levels and, there were levels representing Sonic 06. That being said, I was so put off by the first level (both portions; 2D & 3D) that I haven't picked it up since. I want to go back and try it again but it left a bad first impression for me.

Fundamental Dynasty Warriors 4 and Earth Defense Force 2025.
I could spend hours mindless playing them
The Warrior's games in general are all games that I've had fun with. I must have put more hours into Ken's Rage 1 (Fist of the North Star Warriors) than any of the other Warriors games combines. EDF 2025...I don't know if I played that one specifically but I have played one of the other ones and had fun with it for a solid season...or maybe 4 or 5 months...I dunno...

Ya know what NES game is surprisingly fun? Predator. A few years ago Screwattack went ape-shit over Predator on the NES, spawning the 'Ride the Scorpion' meme which I'm surprised nobody remembers. It's not even an LJN game! Predator NES was made by Activision and while it's a pretty crappy platformer, it's one that's hilariously bad. You can't effectively throw grenades, but you can delicately place them on breakable walls. You can ride scorpions, you can fall off of a cliff if you think you can hug a wall for a more accurate jump. Every so many levels, the style of the game will change to giant bubble-based shooter. It's the kind of game that you need to see to believe and unlike many other NES games, you can find a complete copy for less than $30.

for some reason, i have legitimately fond memories of Bullet Witch. yeah, it was cheesy as all hell, over-the-top, and the gameplay was far from the best, but i genuinely enjoyed the design of the main character, and the whole premise it was built on. maybe my opinion would change if i replayed it, i'm not sure. it's been a long time... and yet, i can't help but look back on it as a fun experience (even if i never beat it).
