Hmm... I think I have a copy of Flags of our Fathers somewhere. I may look into it.

Don't watch many war movies, though I liked Patton and A Bridge Too Far.

Yeah, Band Of Brothers is awesome. It actually got to me emotionally, hell, how could it have not.

Movie for me is Enemy at the Gates. I haven't read a war book yet, though.

Saving Private Ryan is my (maybe predictable, but still solid) choice for my favorite war movie.

I haven't read very many war books. Of what I've read, Starship Troopers is probably the one that I found most entertaining, although I didn't like anything it had to say about war or democracy.

Band of Brothers and Soldiers and Saints. Both excellent movies! They get 11 out of 10 stars in my book.

yes but then we would only have the real footage. If we make movies of it then it gives us a better idea of what happened. Not saying watching real footage doesn't. But sometimes, If you watch movies like Band of Brothers which shows what really happened to every soldier in the company or squad, you get a better idea of what their emotion was and what they were going through.

o sorry i didnt mean to glorify it, i just love to ponder over why these men lived throught such tragic events and how they delt with it after wards, like in foot soliders he can hardly go out side with out being scared when a icicle branch falls or when he heres a drum how he would jump to the floor.. i just wonder why they had to suffer such affects for stupid metal rewards..

World War Z was an amazing book, despite not being about a real war. That book had it all man, how it would spread, the panic it would cause, the repercussions on a global scale, the human element, the plan to turn the tide....EVERYTHING. Every time I read that book I just get more amazed. I found out that they are making a movie, and that the screenplay is fantastic. I hope it turns out to be the Zombie movie that takes home the best picture Oscar.
