I'm a cinema snob but I won't lie... I'm more into B-Movies than A-List stuff. I'm not subscribing to that awkward belief that "Underground = Better than mainstream cuz mainstream = evil" but I love B-Movies simply because they can be so much fun to watch and always have a way of picking me up when I'm in a bad mood.
So what are YOUR favourite "B" movies or cult films and don't be ashamed to tell us why.
The Forbidden Zone - This is the only one I'm going to really talk about. This is my wife & I's FAVOURITE cult film. It even surpasses Rocky Horror Picture Show in our eyes. This movie is an amalgamation of EVERYTHING that there is to love about B movies. It's got tons of sex and nudity, abstract gags, a budget so low that all the backgrounds are LITERALLY doodled, and of course it has no concept of "Political Correctness" in anyway. If it has a soul, Forbidden Zone finds a way to exploit it. It also has lots of classic Jazzy tunes from the 30s and 40s, and it has Danny Elfman playing the devil and singing a rendition of Minnie The Moocher!
The rest of our tops are on a list. No real order except possibly the top two.
Rocky Horror Picture Show
Killer Klowns from Outer Space
Army of Darkness
Re-Animator, Bride of Re-Animator & Beyond Re-animator
BrainDead
Bubba Ho-Tep
Attack of the Killer Tomatoes!
Body Melt
Meet the Feebles
Mars Attacks!
The Abominable Dr. Phibes
The list can go on...
