Yeah Wrex is cool but it was a pity I couldn't save him.

Wow someone actually picked Mona? on that note I think Max Payne is very underrated.

hm...as far as sidekicks go Daxter is my fav.

Since I'm only a lowly xbox player, my vote goes to the whole gang from half life. Dog, Alyx, Barney, thay all were so great to me. I'd like to thank my mum and... ok, now off topic. Definatly the companion cube and of course the almighty Wrex! Where would I be without him.

I don't know, a miniature robot that transforms/is a secret agent is #1 on my list of sidekicks I'd like to have. #2 is a talking Monkey with a top hat, so yea, Clank is pretty damn cool.

Oh the joys of 64bit AI and rectangular titties! Possibly the most worthless NPC in history, yet oh-so memorable.


To follow that up i'd have to say the Aperature Science(c) Weighted Companion-Cube. Never before has there been such an impressive cult-following for an inanimate object, in a videogame or no. Kudos to valve for pulling that one off.

Jak and Ratchet are by no means my favorite heroes, but Daxter and Clank have proven to be my favorite sidekicks for some reason... Otacon is one of my favorites too.

Tales the fox, from the Sonic the Hedgehog series, is most probably my favourite. Any yellow animals should be smiled upon.
Knuckles isn't bad either but I don't whether he still counts as a sidekick, ever since Sonic and Knuckles. Plus Tales's flying is more appealing too me.

To be honest, I think Daxter and Clank are 2 of the few "actual" sidekicks in games. Not to put down other peoples side kick picks, but yea, I just don't see Dog as a sidekick. Or Barney, or Sgt. Johnson, or Companion Cube.

A sidekick has to have 3 key features to qualify as a sidekick in my book:
1. It MUST be shorter than the Hero. Makes the Hero look better.
2. It MUST be the comedic relief of the game, or at least part of it.
3. It needs to be a part of the Heroes attacking arsenal in some form/it must be independently able to kick ass.
