Your favourite rock/metal drummer?

I think drummers are one of the most underrated musicians in any band (speaking as one), especially because they're the butt of endless jokes and very few people appreciate the work they do-it's the most exhausting instrument in the usual band line-up. But, anyway. Who's your favourite drummer? Mine would have to be Dave Lombardo (Slayer/Fantomas) or Brann Dailor (Mastodon), Dave because he was so extreme at the time when Slayer came out and because of his sheer power and speed, even though he's in the tail-end of his 40's now he's still playing his ass off. And as for Brann? Just listen to Mastodon will you? His fills and rolls are absolutely mind-melting, and most of his rhythms are as complicated as most drummer's fills.

Kieth Moon from the Who. He was a great drummer and he proably had one of the funest personality of any Rocker I've seen.

Keith Moon of the Who. Just insane, both in ability and character.
I was going to say him, but I listen to a lot more metal nowadays, so I listed my current tastes. Keith was the one who inspired me to pick up the sticks, though. The drum solo on Cobwebs And Strange is still one of my favourite parts of any songs.

Claude Coleman Jr. (Ween), Brian Mantia & Tim Alexander (Primus), Gil Sharone (Stolen Babies), Steve Sigaty (Nuclear Rabbit), Dale Crover (Melvins). Can't choose a favorite between them. But those are my personal faves, being a drummer myself.

No one.

I go for bands, not members.
A drummer alone would suck, now wouldn't it?
This thread has been owned by your wisdom, what will your infinite wisdom bring us next?

New toilets perhaps?
Or maybe a video games streamed straight to your brain?

only time will tell...

Chris Adler from Lamb of God. Even if you don't like their music, you have to respect this:

Pah dum pshh?
I do agree. Talented and great some drummers may be, I listen to the whole, I do not pay attention to the individual artists.

It's why bands are called things like "Helloween" or "Tacere' and not "Jimmy, Billy, John and Richard".
