I recently spied a thread concerning concert pictures and it made me think back to MY first concert. Which took place only two little years ago -.-' So, it made me wonder about my fellow Escapees' first concerts. And I mean CONCERT. Not some school orchestra performance or an indy band at a coffee shop, but the full deal.

Mine was, as I said, two years ago. I drove up with my Boy and Girlfriend to see The Used. We got caught in the clog near the front for the opening bands, about two or three rows of people from the front, and when The Used came on we were compressed into the second row. About halfway through they called for an opening in the crowd for a moshpit and as people in the front moved back to join it we pressed forward, securing the front row for the last half of the performance. By the end of the night we were deaf and horse but for my first concert it was INCREDIBLE. Also my GF made us hand drawn teeshirts ^^' People kept trying to buy them from us.

My first concert was 2 months ago. Went to Chateau St. Michelle to see Styx. Seventh row from the stage, massive speaker hanging above us, with passes to the Styx after party. I got to meet them, spoke a bit; joked with Lawrence Gowan after he thought I might be a musician, I looked the part. Got them all to autograph the tickets and then went back to the stage to catch Yes the same night.

It was awesome. Ears hurt like all hell though.

Going to see Frampton next Friday.

Not my first (cause I really don't remember) but my first rememberable concert was Nine Inch Nails during thier/his Pretty Hate Machine Tour. That's when I fell in love with Trent Reznor and NIN became my favorite group for quite some time, even after thier music started getting bland with The Downward Spiral (thier/his last great CD.)

But back to the concert, I was about 12 or 13, into stuff like Def Leppard and Billy Idol, so I was completely blown away by the more "computerized" music and performance. Plus I found I really enjoyed moshing! If only I wasn't so small...

My first was Fleet Foxes right when they released their debut album. Espers, a Philly psych rock band played before them. Even though I saw some smaller concerts before then that's what I consider to be my official "first." Here's a sample of their music.

My first concert was Fall Out Boy. My first true concert, which I stayed for the duration of and enjoyed fully, would be the Escape to Plastic Beach World Tour! What a brilliant night.

First, the grammar nazi in me wants to go nuts on your ass.

Second, The Dropkick Murphys in McCoy stadium in Pawtucket with my brother. No need to call for a moshpit, one just forms of its own volition. It was done right except for one kid who passed out from the press or got ko'ed or something. All I know is he was unconscious and some old timer looked like he was going to kill someone for the transgression of doing actual harm in the pit. I went home punch drunk(I never even entered the pit), deaf, and hoarse.

My first was Pink on her I'm Not Dead tour just after I turned 14. The crowd was pretty relaxed but she was amazing!

The first one I was dragged to was Gordon Lightfoot. Not that it was bad, and I actually had a good time, but it wasn't my choice.

The first time I got to choose was when I went to Nightwish in 2008, I think it was. That was great.

My first big concert was seeing The Wailers (Bob Marley's band) when I was 8 years old.
I haven't been in a thicker cloud of pot smoke since.

I love live music. I go to one or two shows a month, and I've nearly gone deaf as a result.

My last show was the the Sleeping In the Aviary "You and Me, Ghost" release party. Fancy Ray was there. :D

Concert that I played in: It was for a summer music program where we form bands with other beginning musicians. This was when my main instrument became bass. The show was really fucking awesome for what it was, great songs, I actually played well, and it just felt magical. Plus, I met one of my closest friends there. I was about 12.

Concert that I wasn't playing in: I went to see a singer named Tina Dico with my girlfriend. The show was better than I expected, since all I've heard of her stuff was all-too-mellow acoustic stuff, but the performance was energetic and had cool arrangments. The lead guitarist was rather hilarious and sometimes stole the entirely spotlight.

Overall not the greatest musical experience of my whole life, but it was really romantic to be there with my girlfriend and the music was good. If only I drank more water that day...

My cousin took me to see the Ramones in 1991 because I wasn't allowed to go by myself.
The first concert I went to by myself was Dylan in 1992.
My first Gig was the Cosmic Psychos in 1990 after Robbie Watts had joined the band, I remember I used my cousin's Library Card as ID as I was 15 at the time.

I saw the White Stripes in my very first concert when I was 16. It was a small venue, a theater really. Tickets sold out immediately and I got a few with my friends off a scalper. Jack White ripped shit up. I do not regret paying $100 for shitty seats.

An actual concert as opposed to a high school gig? That would be Good Charlotte supported by Rooney at the Edinburgh Corn Exchange. With my then-recent ex-girlfriend. It was awkward until I made her cry and leave me alone. Then I felt like a dick xD

Well, a combination of living in the middle of nowhere, social anxiety, and lack of friends have prevented me from going to one. Next year, I'll try to make my first concert next year! I tell myself...

My first concert was a Marilyn Manson show a couple of years back. It kind of sucked because the venue the show was supposed to be at closed a few weeks before hand and the only other place they could find at such short notice was a theater in the same city. Naturally we couldn't do anything but stand in front of our seats for the whole thing. i did get to meet Manson before the show though, which was pretty cool.

I just recently went to my first concert: Mayhem Fest in Pennsylvania. I got to see Disturbed for what may be their last concert ever, so that was pretty awesome.
