Hey guys, do you guys think I should stick with WoW, or move to Lotro? I play WoW right now, I used to play Lotro, but the patch that comes out tomorrow on Lotro has lower exp rates, so it may be more fun to play. What would you guys do?

stick with wow

unless you REALLY LIKE lotro, then play that, but wow is going to have the true staying power here. as in all the pointless loot you collect will continue to be pointless from now until infinity.

Sorry I've asked this before and got no straight answer, in Aus or NZ that's about 2 or 3 games, which isn't much and makes WoW come off better for value but I'm guessing with all the rampant whinging it's gotta be more then that everywhere else.

On-topic: Do whatever you feel like, I would say if you've progressed deep within WoW then probably stick with it. So you don't have to re-patch an entire new game mainly.

Well on WoW the character I am playing currently is only level 20, and my highest level is only 30, and I have many in between. But Lotro I am level 21 so not that high. But I think I will quit mmorpg's because they take to much time and money.

That's only true if you play it enough to balance out the time that you'd otherwise spend playing a game that you'd otherwise buy and enjoy that time as much or more than you would with fresh games or other forms of entertainment.

Fairly hefty requirements, and I have much more fun playing on Xbox Live anyway.

Well you could play both and enjoy them both equally. So when you get board with one you can move on to another. Just a thought.

Not if that MMO is the only thing you play.
It's a very simple calculation. WoW costs me 140 euros every year(a bit more, but I'm going to keep it simple), a single 360 game cost 60-70 euros and a PC game costs 50-60 euros.
On average I buy 3-4 new games in a year, games I will not buy when playing WoW. This will save me up to 140 euros every year. Money I can use to buy the PC/360 games I want when they're in a discount bin somewhere.

Are you playing WoW or "playing" WoW?

If the appeal of "less exp grinding" in an MMO is appealing to you, you're playing the game for the wrong reasons. It's a social environment, and if that's not existing, you're simply hanging out on a computer leftclicking shit now and then, so you might as well play Diablo II and hit 85 in a day or two and be done with it and go do something more meaningful with your life.

If you're growing tired of WoW, stop fucking playing it. Trust me, I should have a long time ago, but I stuck with it for a few months when I wasn't really enjoying it so much... :/

If you're thinking about trying something new, try something new! Why not play just because you're playing something else? No time? Well stop the other thing a little bit just to try the new one, and if you don't like it, don't bother, and if you do, -that's- when you start asking yourself if your months/years invested in WoW can outweigh the idea of something more fun, (because patches/updates/new instances/community/friends might be better than just playing LOTRO.)

trying to be unbiased here, honestly.

Wow is nice, but I got bored with it pretty fast. I never played Lotro, but if I had to reccomend an mmorpg I'd say City of Heroes/City of Villains. They can be bought together, and played using just one account. Unlike a lot of Mmorpgs who just become a job after a while, CoH/CoV remains fun.

Or you can play The Kingdom Of Loathing [http://www.kindomofloathing.com], a great free browser-based mmorpg.
