My least favorite word is "first" you can probably figure out why by looking at the comments on Zero Punctuation.

first!

I really don't like it when people say irregardless, and fagot (it's like some Medieval peasants thought "LOL! A bundle of sticks = homosexual ROFLMAO!!!!!!!11")

Grey... or is it gray? I'll never fucking find out. I could probably just look it up but that would ruin the mystery.

'But'.

Always worrying.

Speaking of words, why are their two directly opposite word threads going on in the main page?
I hoped it would happen.. And it did!

Because the word reminds me of the thing.

Oh so true. Another is "GAY" as an insult, and any other useless obscenities.

I mean, what is the point of saying first?

It's a commonly known fact that homophobia is pervasive amongst the unintelligent.
And pre-teen boys.
You are the greatest person ever. Same exact thing that I was going to say.

As has been said, "gay" as a general-purpose derogatory adjective.
Also, "sequel", "first", "lol" or any other abbreviatures like OMG and WTF.

When I'm talking to someone and we're having a good conversation. Very articulate and progressive. Until they say something like 'oh that's shit'. Don't get me wrong I use it as an adjective aswell, more often than I should do. But when you're into an in-depth discussion about something more particular and one person proceeds to decimate their expansive vocabulary by lazily saying 'that's shit'. I know sometimes it's done for effect but there are better words and phrases to use.

So yeah. Shit is my least favourite word to encounter right now.

Not technically one word, but "would not have". I always say "wouldn't've"; a (made up) contraction of the three.

I mean, it sounds fine. Same with "couldn't've" and "shouldn't've". They sound like real words but everyone looks at me funny when I say them.

Discourse. Upper-level English courses have a numbing effect on the brain.

I could be changing my mind. Upon reading posts, particularly by MaxReaper and NoMoreSanity, I also get quite aggravated at the flippant use of words relating to gay people. I have a few a gay friends, I'm heterosexual myself but I like to fuck with peoples heads and keep them guessing. I only say this now because no one here knows me in real life. If I ever meet any of you I'll point out the people whom I like to keep guessing. Anyway I digress. Come on, it's about time all the homophobics and general misunderstanding audience got around it. Not only is it acceptable for someone of the same sex to like the same sex but also it's incredibly egotistical to think that they'll come onto you if you're trapped in an elevator with them. For example...

Anyway yeah. That's another word that pisses me off when improperly used. Gay. I've had to invent a '3rd' meaning in my circle of friends (as I'm sure many of you have) not because they're homophobic but because it's become so passe in our current culture and it's being said subconsciously despite my beratings. Some things are growing into fashion that shouldn't be...

Failed, as in: "You have failed this class, you should have tried harder."
I would have if I gave a shit about it.
