Well, this one time on single player. It was on hard and the computers didn't seem to care. They messed with several witches, didn't shoot at the tanks. And as my nipples were being ripped out by a hunter they decided that they wanted to chase after a normal zombie that walked away. As we got to the second level, we all had red health and they all had medkits and never used them. So i did what a lot of people would have and used mine on me, shot the others for theirs and continued on. It worked out nicely not having anyone else with me till i opened a door and they came back from the dead seemingly to kill me. The zombies were coming and i wanted a nice steel door to hide behind and shoot out of but they decided the witch, tank, and hunter were friendly and let them in for tea. Just before dieing i was able to kill them and turn off the game. fun times, fun times.

I was in the death toll campaign, the second level, where your in the sewers. We'd managed to make it though the sewers, killing a witch in the process. I was surviving just on pills, my health bar was filled with nothing but red health. People kept trying to heal me but I just said "Don't worry, pills will keep me going"

Anyway, we got out of the sewers, we where just in front of the safe house, which is in a train carage. As the other guys where fighting off a hunter and a few regular zombies a smoker grabbed me from behind. I lost all my health before the guys could get it off me. Louis helped me up, and started to heal. Thats when the Tank turned up.

I saw it coming from the direction of the safe room as I healed. I was at the back of the group, furthest away. The tank smack Francis straight in the face. Dead, one hit. It then hit Bill, who went down and was prompley smashed to bits. Just Zoey (me) and Louis left. I was pumpng him full of lead as he smacked Louis to the ground. "Shit, Im out of here" I yelled. The tank made a dash for me, but I scurted around it, and luckly it was more intrested in stomping on Louis's head, so I ran for the safe room.

As I was heading towards the train, I looked over my shoulder. A huge fucking rock sent me flying into the door. I opened the door, ran in, turned around to close it, and the tank just comes out of fucking no where, and punched me to the back of the carrage. Now, Imagine the situation. Im in the safe room, one of thoughs really thin train ones, and theres a tank at the other fucking end. What chance did I have!?

I got a good one, Vs. No mercy, first stage, Infected.
We spawned as two smokers and two hunters, (lucky lucky) and so we all hid just down the stairs with the two smokers at the end of the corridor and the two hunters hiding in the first room on the left. The first survivor came down without his teammates and I tongued him all the way to the end of the corridor. One of his friends came down to help him and the other smoker grabbed him so they were both constricted at the end of the corridor.
The other two team up and come down together, the two of them rush at me and the other smoker and in their haste they miss the two hunters in the corner and they both pounce the two remaining survivors and we kill all four of them in under two minutes, golden.

No Mercy, Advanced, Finali, it was my first game ever and I was playing with a close friend and 2 of his friends. We decide to hide in the closet against the hoards, then jump out for the tanks. I was a frontrow shotgunner. All goes well.

First tank, all goes bad. I fail to get out of the way in time (what is it with the tank always running faster then me?) and he pounds me to FOUR (4) hp before he's down, and we all get back into the closet. I'm so hurt, I abandon my designated frontrow and hop in the back, and somebody instinctively takes over for me in the front.

Second wave: Autoshotty + backrow = ehhhh... So I fire WELL above everybodies heads, and manage to bring my (approx) 2% headshot rate up to 7% in a single firefight. Go me!

Second Tank: Yay he didn't go for me, but things went badly again. By the time he was dead, he killed somebody. Who did he kill? I don't know, I was in a blind panic by now. How long have I been at 4 hp?! TOO LONG! I gotta make it to the choppa! I hear it coming, I hear the hoard coming! I limp for it! Go me go! Don't look back they're right on my heels, I'm almost there, I made it! I made- *thud* I hit the floor, 2 feet from the chopper...

Only one of us survived; it was that !@#$ing Zoey, the brother of the friend I was playing with, the one that kept running off ahead and requiring rescue, or running into my line of fire, you name it. I was mad! But it was fun...

Earlier: I'm playing Louis btw, and this was before the other 2 joined, so it was me, my friend, and bots... we clear the first room outside of the safehouse, and he jumps down the hole. The bots follow, I cover him from up top... A smoker decides to lick me at that moment, and I die a hilarious death as my panicking friend realizes there's no way up to save me. x3 Very first minute of the stage.

Who wants to hear about a child breaking down into tears?

My group of random strangers and I were running a quick game, Dead Air, expert. After we got our asses royally handed back to us, we finally came to the very last safe room with four heavily injured survivors. Some fool decides to use up TWO med-kits, leaving a panicky kid (playing as Bill, his username was a bit crude) with very little health. We decide that Bill deserved to stay at red until we got to the truck (because there's health there anyway).

So, the three of us healthy and wealthy survivors decide to jump off the platform, and watch a plane crash. Bill had gone AFK for a bit, and we didn't realize that he was still in the saferoom instead of playing with our bloody-thirsty zombies. After the plane had crashed into the ground, and we were done admiring the explosions, we noticed all three special infected behind us. We took pot-shots, and killed the hunter and the boomer. With our victories hanging over our heads, we ignored the still living smoker. The three of us merrily decided to go for the truck.

Then DISASTER struck!

Bill decides to finally join us in our revelry, but promptly gets strangled by the smoker on the starting platform. I run back, and end the smoker, while my teammates are discussing exactly how we jump ten feet straight up. After a good twenty seconds of discussion, we decide that the only way to help our dearest friend is to shoot him and let him re-spawn.

Que crying and pleading.

Bill begs to be left there, even if he is to miss the finale. He says that he would do anything not to die.

I inquire as to how low he would go, but seeing how there's nothing we can do, I cut him off mid-sentence by means of headshot.

I was playing on No mercy a couple months ago, I join a game on expert mode on the 1st level and a group of friends were playing on expert. To condense my initial impressions into 2 words: they sucked.

2 of them ran ahead and got vomited on, and got ganged by zombies, I was at the rear with the other guy and had to fight off the zombies that were heading past me, I must of killed about 3/4 of the zombies, and after the fight, the 2 incapacitated clanners and their useless friend who was so bad he basically ran away meleeing started raging so hard at me for being "a complete noob!" and "sucking so hard!". Eventually culminating with them team killing me.

So they laughed and kept going, Now usually I would quit the game because it wasn't worth arguing with morons like that, but I had noticed that for some reason they had assumed I left the game, which I hadn't , and I decided that these guys had pissed me off enough to warrant a bit of pay back, so I stayed in the game, awaiting the time that they finished the level, which didn't go entirely to my plan, because they sucked so hard they got about 1/2 way through the first no mercy level before they died to a witch and a couple hunters.

So we all spawn, I Bring all 3 of them down with shotgun blasts before they can get me, whether they sucked or didn't expect it I don't know, or perhaps they were loading up, but I got all of them before they even scratched me. I hid behind the concrete block and let them bleed out, so it was just me alive. Of course by now they want to kick me and all of them were raging pretty hard. But this is back when you could still change your name to get out of being kicked. So I changed my name when the kick vote came up every time. And morons that they were, they didn't even think of restarting the campaign. So they were forced to watch me dance around the beginning area spamming voice commands until they finally managed to kick me 10 minutes or so later.

The most amusing part of all this for me was the fact that before all this occured, they were calling me a noob, abusing me for my supposedly newbish behaviour. And yet in their conversations, 2 of them had never even finished no mercy, and none of them had played on expert mode before.

So not entirely a horror story, but it was for them I suppose.

I have a pretty good story, or actually two, and both involve Tanks, the No Mercy level, stage 4, at the bit with the open construction area where a tank often spawns.

First time: The Tank barrels out of nowhere, headed straight for me as its first target, thinking that I was doomed, as its massive paw swiped at me. y sheer dumb luck, I managed to grab the side of the building, my panic turning to laughter as the Tank didn't stop in its tracks, instead lumbering onwards towards me, taking itself right off the building in the process.

Second Time: As the Infected, I was determined to kill this one player who went by the name of Khaan, but ever since the first stage, he had remained annoyingly alive, and had thwarted my previous attempts to destroy him, as well as those of my team. So finally, when I got the Tank, in the same area as the previous story, I went on a rampage. I only managed to kill one, as those big iron bars make for good hiding places, but when I took a swipe, and sent Bill flying off the roof, I realised who it was.
Opening up chat, I sent the only possibly appropriate message:
"Khaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan!"

I was playing some versus the other day and it was the first level of No Mercy. We were the zombies. This was just the very end of the (short) level, but it was my first time on versus so I was pretty excited and doing stupid crap.

As you know, Boomers are pathetically weak. At this stage of the game, the enemy team is a man down and they're at the car alarm outside of the subway station.

I'm the only zombie alive and I'm bricking it in a cupboard of the building just a little up the road, debating whether I should go outside and go out with a big boom.

While I sat there pondering, a smoker and hunter had pinned two of the remaining three survivors. The last guy was being attacked by the horde and was trying to shoot the smoker on the roof above me.

In a move of unrivalled heroism, I leapt out of the closet (haha gay joke), tore towards the window, smashed it open and hurled my bloated body out of it. I saw the survivor and in a split second ran up and slapped him across the face. He died.

It was really electric. It really doesn't sound epic at all now that I've written it out, but at the time it just felt so reckless and I can't believe it actually worked. I bet he was pissed though. How many times do you get slapped by a Boomer? Not often. I left a mark.

I've got two.
No Mercy finale, playing as Bill. Three others are AI-controlled.
The chopper finally arrives. We run out of the little room that contains the radio and try mowing our way through the horde of zombies. I'm the most injured, limping along, when a tank appears and hurls itself at me. At this point everyone else is at the chopper. I wheel around, spraying the zombie horde with bullets as the screen goes blurry, and I fall.
I died a hero's death.

One of the Blood Harvest levels (I think). Playing as Bill with some friends on xbox live.
We're out of health packs, and I'm once again injured so badly I'm limping along at an agonizingly slow pace. The rest of the team is so far ahead, I decide "fuck it" and ask them to come put me out of my misery. I crouch on the ground, turn around, and tell them to shoot me right in the back of the neck. (Though this didn't really work as quickly as we had hoped, it took a few cliploads of bullets til I died. Then they lit my corpse on fire in a funeral pyre with a molotov.)
So I'm watching them go ahead and try to beat the level, until one of them goes ahead across a little wooden bridge that collapses after he gets across. Suddenly, a hunter pounces on him and kills him as everyone else is too far behind to do much. My friend (playing as Louis) reaches the one side of the bridge, but before he can do anything the hunter leaps clear across the gap between the two sides of the bridge and kills him.
God, this game is awesome.

Every single goddamn time I throw a pipebomb near the parking garage in Dead Air I without fail put it right next to the damn witch. This results in me running like a little ***** hoping that my teamates are smart enough to understand "Shoot her, fucking shoot her" as sh mauls my ass.

me and a freind, two AI partners are playing, myy freind [the dumb ass that he is] decides to get his witch-hunter acheivement but is not familiar with the standard witch killing protocoll. hence my 2 AI partners, those wonderfull gobs, decide to go help revive his sorry ass. a smoker decides this is a wonderfull time to sneak up on my lonesome-self and grab me from atop a bloody house. I get dragged up, but this isnt the worst of it. my freind, a wealth of bright ideas, chucks a pipebomb into the window, killing the smoker, myself at red health, and a horde turning me into a mince meat buffet .

THe lesson here? the AI is clearly superior too human players and as such, do not allow your freinds to play with you.

I just arrived at the Church in the Death Toll Campaign and i heard a guy constantly talking to himself. After some dialogue he was convinced that we were zombies which resulted in him ringing the church bell. There was a huge scream and i realised how empty and small the church was.
All i could think of was, 'no, no, no, no stop ringing that bloody bell!'

However after that i got revenge on the zombies. At the start of the very next level i was at the top of the church with my hunting rifle, looking over a street full of infected. I opened fire and felt like the hand of god.

I was on the finale of the first campaign, I was up at the turret and taking out as many infected as possible, suddenly a tank appears and the turret didnt wrap around that far so i dismounted and opened fire. suddenly i was flung off my roost by a second tank that had snuck up on me and my party. ( i was playing solo campaign) as i got back up i healed myself just in time to throw a pipe bomb at an incoming horde averting them from me and my squad.

I started engaging the two tanks beating the hell out of my team, as I was firing i was heading for the ladder to get back up to my squad when i was abruptly thrown again by a THIRD tank.

At that moment the chopper arrived for evac. As my team got to the chopper I followed close behind until i noticed i wasnt moving anymore because a horde was on top of me from behind.

I ended up being incapacitated and my team already at the chopper did not come to my rescue or even return fire to help.

In the end I was slaughtered.

BUT i still got the achievement. so it was alright.

Anyway, I was playing No Mercy with my mates online (In my opinion the most dificult campaign) and we were very unlucky with hordes and Boomers (Expert) so we were all limping.

So, we were almost to the safe room, on the street with the car. No zombies; hurrah! I thought as I made a beeline for the saferoom. Thump thump thump. There's a tank about. We have no molotovs, no healthpacks, no pills. we were screwed, and I was the only one who noticed. I don't have a mic and, unfortunately, couldn't type fast enough to alert my team. The music blares, 1 teammate down, the other dead as the tank thunders towards me. My other teammate fled to the apartments when crash, the alarm car pelts him right in the face, killing him.

The alarm goes, screams of the horde echoed toward me. I was screwed and the tank barely had a scratch. I just fired and ran, I managed to make a loop of the building and jump run to the subway entrance. The horde were inches behind me, my teammates down and a mere few feet to the safe room and safety. I had forgotten about the tank, the music blared and bang! My body flew into the safe room, and since I had found some pills in the building loop, I survived it, shut the door and breathed a sigh of relief.

Dif: Expert
Movie: Death Toll
Stage: 3

Although being heavily injured and lacking supplies, walking half dead and weary eyed into 'The Church', me and my troop of blood scared veterans felt confident about the train yard. We had spotted a large tower, and hoped for an upgrade to our arms, as well as some pills. Blasting the odd zombie, we exited the carrage in formation, myself being at the front of our troop, bearing the least of our injuries.

Black Wolf (Bill) shouted "Tank! Quick, to the tower!". Hearing the beasts fearsome cries, we did not object. Scattering and limping up the tower, we searced for our enemy. Issuing battle comands and strategies, we took up arms and prepared for a fire fight, making sure to cover all angles. Moments passed and still no sight of the demon, as we became anxious with fear.

Fodder's (Lewis) cry of "TANK!" was followed by an uproar of gunfire. In a panic confusion, we had no idea where our foe was. "Behind u..." was all we heard before we saw the broken body of our former fly through the air with grace, before the horrifying crunch of bone as it struck the wall. Cursing we opened fire as the beast as rushed up from beneath us, Round after round, still it came. Close and closer it charged, as we were running out of time. We had to kill it now. Vas (Zoe) and Black Wolf (Bill) unleashed a doubled volley of auto-matic shotgun death at our foe, to no avail. We had no choice. "Fall Back, we have to jump!". We saw our destination, the top of a train carrage, which garenteed a safe landing. I jumped first, springing back up, laying more fire to the tank. "Go! I'll cover you" screamed Vas. Black Wolf (Bill) agreed, jumping and landing next to me, taking a page from my book and pumping more lead into the fiend. Vas (Zoe)turned and jumped, but he was to late, the tank had struck. Knocking her off the tower, if not being killed by the blow, surely by the fall. A chill of fear grasped our spines. The tank, destroying the rail of the tower, jumped of, no sign of slowing down appeared. Running low on ammo, our confidence was fading. "I need ammo!" shouted Vas (Zoe), "Ok, fall back and we'll make an ammo run, don't stop shooting!". Dismanteling the carrage, we scampered off towards the safe house carrage, turning to try and hold of our foe. Suddenly, silence fell. Dumb struck, we found ourselves wondering if we had been victorious.

Moments passedand we relaxed, fending off small amounts of zombie fodder. Out of nowhere, a mass of earth flew through the dark sky, smashing into Vas (Zoe), breaking her leg, rendering her imobilized. Out of the mist charged the beast, no mercy in its eyes. Lining up the monster, i proceeded to open fire. My heart stopping when i realized i had run out of ammo. Sweating and Screaming i dashed for the safe house. Slamming the door with a heaving thud. Whne out of the blue, my inner concious which strangly sounded like Fodder (Lewis) whispered something along the lines of "...Once you leave the safe house, the tank can still get in...". Having to think about this for a split second, was long enough for the door i was pressed hard up against to be shattered in from the outside. Trapped. Trapped with the fearsome of all creatures. Without thinking i dashed as far as possible from the beast, pressed against the wall of the carrage, i unleashed all i had from my duel barreta's into the beast skull. At full speed, it did not take him long to reach me, raising his arm in a certain attempt to steal my life, i fired the last of my clip. All four shots peircing the thick skull. It seized up for a split second before, swaying as i reloaded, fireing as fast and as frantically as i could. Not giving the beast an inch. Litterly mere centimeters away from the body of the demon, i prayed to a Director like god, thanking it for saving my life. I had beaten the fiend, but only just... and at what cause...
You sir, deserve a medal for such brilliant writing.
