Okay there's been a lot of discussion lately about creativity in games, so now your the ones creating the game. Cant be too hard can it?
What genre is it?
What special thing is going to make it 'unique'?
Any other details?

I'm already working on one. It's a bit of an odd twist to RPG's, of course the story is generic as all hell, but other then that wait for me to finish :p.

It would be a cyberpunk setting with a heavy RPG feeling to it (lots of stats and things to learn/unlock) FPS when in combat. Think of it as a fallout 3, vampire bloodlines, arcanum meets bladerunner type of setting. So you can use a mix of D&D things out of it too. Races like half ogers and dwarfs.
What would make it unique is the part of the fusion between different RPG settings. You can be a vampire elf riding around in a hovering car with a (advanced)platemail armor while using a broadswoard and granades for example.
Other details..? Hmm... maybe a film noir kind of story. Haven't come up with anything more than this so far. Don't know if it has been done.

*Edit: Oh yeah. And I if I could I would make an AI that is smart enough tu understand a replay to a NPC if you say or type somthing so YOU can choose what to say and get an according respons.

I don't know about everyone else but I like new games the only thing I don't is there is less of a create your own story and I don't mean like choosing different outcomes based on a karma good or evil system. But a imagination driven story things you peace together yourself where there is diffidently a story there but it feels different for each player because their imagination works differently. They never leave things up to questioning they answer everything which is okay I guess mostly due to the internet and the vast amounts of people who pick at plots and other things so much and people who want to tell there story and not leave it up to the player because they'll ruin their "vision" of a great story. I would go back to the create your own story the character is you character his past is his past his future is his future how you get to the end of the path is the most important part. People usually have such strong opinions meaning they can think on a pretty high level at least high enough to have a decent imagination the means they could make a great story if not a great story just for them.

That's what I would do I would have far more choice then what they have now, so my unique and special thing is the ability to make you use your imagination and not treat you like a small child but an adult who can make the decisions you want to make not just the decisions they allow you to make.

I have a treatment for a game called "creatures." From an outsider's standpoint, it may seem pretty generic.

Survival horror.
Sandbox environment.
Viral outbreak.
People/animals start turning into mutants.
Mission-based.
Three separate (but similar) campaigns.
Game environment changes as the game progresses.

The actual 'sandbox' city is based off of my hometown, and compared to something like Manhattan island in Spiderman 2 the movie the game, it's fairly small. The idea is that there's a lot of content and details packed into this 'big town, small city.'

Plus, I don't know how at this point, but I wanted to create a community in the town that 'lived' on its own. You will obviously be a part of that community over the course of the game, but there's some intelligence to the traffic, the pedestrians, people in offices and businesses and so forth.

A steampunk sandbox game. I have the feeling there are not too many of them. But mine will include flying aircraft carriers and the plane-submarines from Skycaptain and the World of Tomorrow. Plus a build-your-own-steampunk-weapons engine.

What genre is it? An RPG/FPS/TPS hybrid

What special thing is going to make it 'unique'? You play as a space vampire, fully customizable character, dialogue similar to ME, the story itself is a big part of what makes it unique. Also, when the game is advertised it would be with a female protagonist instead of a short, brown-haired male protagonist every game advertises.

Any other details? In combat, gun combat is FPS, when using the swords the camera switches to a third person perspective. Your character can feed on any opponent after they take enough damage, also loyal allies.

It would probably be a trilogy of "stand alone" games; and it would be epic!

Genre: open world RPG

Special Thing: major focus on NPC interaction to drive the story. Game is updated periodically to allow for dialogue choices submitted by players, making the possible directions the story could go ever increasing.

Details: fantasy setting consisting of 1000 miniature planets. Travel between planets is done by launching people out of space guns, or using airships for those wealthy enough to afford them.

I have a game I'm working on, but I don't like to give details because the idea is easy to copy, but surprisingly the only thing I've seen with anything even close to it is Bleach and luckly it's only one minor thing that no one should notice.

Super hero team, individualized controls for the characters, and individual parts in a boss fight. Make it actually seem like a super hero team as opposed to co-op with different looking powers that work the same. If you give gameplay elements to work with the individual powers you have replay value for each individual characters and co-op value that makes the different cogs actually seem important.

And, for the love of god, don't power down the god characters to make it even. If you're going to make a super hero vs mode make different gametypes for power levels. Psylocke should not be able to take down the Hulk!

Well, my immediate response is to make a Diablo-esque hack and slash RPG based off of either Pathfinder or Dungeons & Dragons 3.5 tabletop RPG rules. Not very creative, but it'd be fun as all hell done properly.

Just for kicks I'd like to try and make a Fantasy Adventure/RPG game influenced heavily by Egyptian Theology with heavy Science Fiction elements as well. Sort of like Stargate meets Fallout meets Dragon Age.

If I had the time and energy to start up a new game project it would be a 3rd person multiplayer steam punk naval game.

The two teams would start at on opposing ships and sail around each other for a bit one player would steer and the others would fire the deck guns, repair damage, or snipe from the rigging.

Eventually the two ships would collide and get stuck together by boarding ramps. Then the players would fight each other with swords, wrenches, bayonets, and steam muskets. Instead of gunpowder cartridges the players could only reload their guns at steam charging stations near key points. Most of the fighting will be done with melee weapons, however camping the refill stations will be a valid defensive strategy.

Victory will be determined like Battle Field where each death removes a victory ticket and the fist team out of victory tickets looses. Also sinking the enemy's ship results in an instant win.

This game could be expanded into a MMO context where you buy your own ship and sail around a persistent world trading and pirating with all your buddies, but I would want to see how it would work as a stand alone Team Deathmatch game first.

Also this is just a pipe dream, since as I said in the fist paragraph, I don't have the time or energy for this.

lets see, am I trying to make it awesome or trying to make it sell. If it's the latter (lols inbound)

Genre: FPS
Unique: nothing, that subtracts moneys
Details: Insta-kill, camper friendly, noob spawning grounds, prestige system, (maybe throw in horde mode), little to no single player fun, useless gun atachments.
(you can see my inspirations there.)

Good Game*:
Genre: RPG/Shooter (third person/first person toggle)
Unique: amazing map editor with single player mission abilitys, good stat system
Details: In-depth choice filled cause and effect system, lots of missions, huge storyline (effected by choices), Creative characters, amazing self-sculpting (also effected by choices, includes stats.)

*future plans. Nowhere near a game making career yet

My idea would be a time travelling murder myster. So RPG, special feature may be the sanity meter (don't see that enough anymore) which coincides with your own choices about whether you go search for things own your own or cheat and ask for help from yourself from that time period.

You wake up after being unconcious (a bit cliche I know) you have a gun in your hand that has been used recently. Your a time travelling policeman, you notice a body infront of you and see its you in the future.

Your then on the run from from other time police as you search for your killer (because you're convinced you didn't do it) or accept that you may be a suspect and try to piece together why you think you may have killed yourself.

Its a journey that will take you all over human history as you relive some of your cases in search of connections but at a cost, slowly you lose your sanity as you come to terms with the fact that you know your ultimate destiny and as you meet yourself in the time stream for any information you affect your own life as you know what happens in different time periods along the course of your life.

Your character may even start questioning why he's doing things, is it because he has the free will to choose or has it all been planned out by someone else?

Either a MMORPG set in the dystopian near-future, or a new X-Wing game.

I've put more thought into X-Wing than the MMO.

The campaign would have 4 player split-screen co-op, and up to 12-player co-op over the internet or system link. Up to 24-player multiplayer PvP (2 full squadrons against each other)

The campaign would cover the significant space battles fought by X-Wings during the Galactic Civil War and beyond, including the Thrawn Campaign.

2 expansions: The first would cover the Yuuzhan Vong war, the second would cover the Second Galactic Civil War.

In the terms of game mechanics, mine would be an exploratory action RPG, in a world where both advanced tech and magic existed (but neither would be so powerful that it would end up being "deux ex machina". Choice of 1st person/3rd person, adjustable gender and physical appearence (in other words, similar sort of style to Fallout 3).

In the terms of story, it would be about a parent finding a lost child, a cliche I know but I would try to make up for that by making the game world interesting to explore, plus making sure the storyline had a load of good twists and turns before the end. Also I would include a customisation back-story for the player so they can choose the starting personality of their character, which would also be affected by various moral decisions they make through out the game.

There would be no multiplayer, as I don't really play multiplayer that much! (and I don't think it would work with this style of game!)

Game idea 1:

Super Hero action game where the player creates a character and picks his core power.
The power of the character changes depending on whether or not you are in control of your powers, in addition to a karma system.

Karma changes the visual effect of the power. Good karma makes you look sharp and neat. Bad karma makes your powers rough and rugged.

Each is effected by a weather system and has its own advantages/disadvantages.

Multiplayer based.

Power (control on the left, uncontroled on the right)

Lightning/Fire (mainly range based with some powerful close range attacks
Mana/Wind (mana beats special powers like fire, wind beats physical powers like earth)
Ice/Water (speed based, good at mixing up combat, can't take a beating, both long range)
Metal/Earth (defensive based good at close range)
Light/Dark (can switch between fighting styles good against its controled opposite)
Purity/Chaos (purity good against evil karma, chaos good against good karma. high offence low defence)

In the briefest way possible this is my idea :D
