Given a bit of luck and a bit of hard work, what would you want to do? I'm not talking about something that's within reach at present (maybe you need a bit more money, or to meet someone for some reason) but I'm also not talking about doing the impossible or insanely difficult, I'm talking something where you need to catch a small break, and thus is why it remains a dream and not reality.

For me it'd be a road-trip across the American deserts in a convertible with a beautiful woman listening to proper road-trip music, flooring the accelerator across open land in a country I've only seen in film, but a lot of them.
I'd need to learn how to drive, for a start, and get a passport to get over to America, as well as find and persuade such a woman, but it's something that I can accomplish. Sadly, I'm not exactly flush with money, so that's where the break comes in: winning something on a gameshow or a middle-amount lottery win. Hell, if I get enough money from either of those sources, I could also buy a house in York so I don't have to rent or live in uni halls accomodation... Err... I digress

What do you want, and what do you need for it?

To go as close to the edge of "possible" as...erm, possible: Win the lottery, meet famous contact, become horror director by the age of 25.

To be realistic: Bust my ass completing uni course, bust my ass making ends meet while I look for an opportunity, bust my ass becoming film director, then...well, do that, and keep doing it well for as long as possible. Hopefully not turning into george lucas in the process.

I guess I was a bit vague on the whole 'possible' bit, but I found it too hard to define. I mean, for mine, I don't think I'd ever win the lottery jackpot, but the possibility of winning a few grand isn't too prohibitive.

Just out of interest: any contact in particular? Or just someone in the business?

I present a student radio show, and I took a shot and emailed my favourite musician, and he agreed to do an interview with me, and then 3 hours later I was offered an interview with Damien O'Neill from The Undertones as well. Recorded them both on the same morning (bunking off lectures). Things like this are possible :)

I would actually like to travel the world and learn more about the culture of the people, as well as to experience the sights, smells, and sound of the nations.

Won't happen but can only dream - All major English political parties are executed for there crimes against the people. Tories (especially tories!), libdems and labour all die.

More realistic - wreck bone breaking vengeance on all the people who have wronged me in my life.
(yes this is realistic i tower over them now with muscle mass now)

It is a possibility that when I get to university one of the people to knock on my door will be a cute girl with similar interests. Just needs luck.

I probably have a better chance of my dream of doing well in my university course and then doing well in the game industry, despite the average length of a career being five years...
Hard work and luck, and not being eaten by a publisher.

This.

I feel like I'm missing out on something special being trapped in the US. I went to Canada once and everything was all clean and everyone was real friendly (despite being drunk) it was pretty cool. I want to see Japan, Brittan, Germany... stuff like that.

Not going to Australia though. Everything there tries to kill you.

Become a fantasy writer. Not that vague stuff either. A good one. Like David Eddings, or the person who wrote the Wheel of Time.

Failing that, a rising politician in Australia. Become PM and get shit done.

Roadtrip around the USA, meeting people who means a lot to me.
I will also meet some cool dudes in University which I can develop games with and have E3 projector marathons with.

(I hoped this would be about sexual fantasies. My ones are amazing)

OT: I would love to be able to fly some sort of small aircraft. Maybe a jet, or a helicopter. The freedom that I would feel would be fantastic.

A small break, huh? I'd like for the VA to service-connect all of my health problems and declare me 60% disabled or so (not sure what the number would actually be with my various conditions, but most doctors seem to cite 60 as a minimum. Some like to say 100, but I think they're full of shit). Then I could medically retire in my 30s and focus on improving my health... and then I could get to work on all of those self-indulgent things that remain on my bucket list.

To save somebody somehow has been an idle daydream for me for a long while, doesnt have to be a cute girl, just me being the difference to someone. Back in my M.A. days i really wanted to save some ass, kung-fu style.

I'm lucky enough to have been travelling already and also currently working in a different country with a view to do some more...but it's always me as a person i fantasize about changing, being braver, more level headed etc.

captchaaa: nitty gritty - yea boi! that's what um talkin bout!

To be part-time novelist, part-time war studies lecturer (specialist eras: early/mid-Republic Rome & Napoleonic Wars) & part-time myrmecologist...(!)

If only the UK government weren't such dickwads, I'd have the funding to be the last one... *sigh*

Start a web comic.

A financial break wouldn't really matter in that case.
What I need is free time.
Free time to improve my drawing abilities and time to draw the comic pages themselves.

Become Internet famous. In the way of being so creative for my work. Not in the way of somehow getting a bad photo of me to become a shitty meme.

Fast forward a year, meet my girlfriend that I've been with for over 2 years and have known for 8, come back home with her. From there, anything would be fine, though I'd love to go to Italy with her.

Oh, and win a moderately sized lottery, write a novel, and publish a poetry book.

BUying some land and building a house outside the city. In a couple years, we'll have the cash for a down payment and be able to start. What city, though? I have no idea, because I'm not sure if I want to stay where I am. My parents are retiring to the other side of Canada in the spring, and that's going to be hard on us. My friends are here, but central Canada's weather sucks. I'd like to be in south-west Saskatchewan or SE Alberta for the climate, but not sure I can find comporable work there.

... If I worked from home or didn't have to work, or could work in a small-town library (currently work for big city government library), that would be good, too.

One of my dreeams is to get my superheroes idea in paper/ material form since I can't draw. While I prefer I co-op with my best friend for this (he's into comicbook and is a freelance Illustrator) but he got his own ambitious. Either way I just want to see my created heroes and villain that's not in my head either I learn to draw or someone can draw for me and I have ALOT of ideas).

Build and pilot my own airship. Like one of those from a stereotypical steampunk setting, all polished wood, brass, driven by screws, and dripping style from every line.

Then spend a year or so flying around the world in it.

I'd need some serious money for it, and a lot more education, but it's possible.
