After spending the night doing nothing but my best House impersonation I.E throwing a ball at a wall, taking high dose painkillers (bad shoulder), browsing the internets for random bits and pieces, curing patients with little more than a malevolent gaze and a twisted wit (they died FYI, it WAS lupus). I have come to the conclusion that the Escapist forums needs a new topic. So! As my first ever topic I have a set of questions to be answered in two sections, answer what you choose if you like.

1)What is your greatest achievement thus far in your life? Why is it your greatest? Are you happy with it?

2) What do you hope will be your greatest achievement? How will you acomplish it? Do you think you will achieve it?

In anycase, I hope this injects a new range of topics. I'd love to be a meme. It'd be my greatest achievement.

1.Locking in a job doing what I love with a corporate juggernaut, and I'm still not out of college yet. I was always pretty poor as a kid, so it is nice to see all of my hard work in school pay off to let me go to a big name college, and because of such, get a big name job.

Either that, or getting my third blackbelt (The third one was in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu). Knowing 3 martial arts and being good enough to turn my sport/hobby into a profession was a really nice feeling, even if I didn't end up going anywhere past a hobby with it.

2. Get married to my girlfriend and start a family.

It's never Lupus... except when it is.

1. My greatest achivement is I dunno, nothing I guess.

2. What I hope to be my greatest achivement is to film something that people will enjoy. Right now I have asperations to start my own web series, it's a long shot, but if I have a good sense of humor and discuss topics in an interesting way, maybe I'll succeed.
In the long run I hope to be involved with the creation of an oscar winning film.

Both of those asperations rely on luck quite a bit, but if I keep at it, I may achieve it. I have some talent for it, and I've made a few videos over the course of my life, so I've already taken several small steps towards the larger world.

1) Either getting my black belt (10 years of hard work, it's worth squat, but it makes me feel special) or getting a crapton of A's in my GCSE's.

^^ lots of hard work, that ultimately paid off. Not sure if I'm happy with them though. The grades mean that everybody has crazy-high expectations of me, and the black belt doesn't mean anything in the real world.

2) elevating myself to at least the position of "local celebrity" (I'd be noticed by people in my area for something I've done, but not be noticed an a huge scale).

^^ Lots of hard work, once again. My band will hopefully make it big (unlikely, but hey what the hell). I mean, we're fully capable of doing it, I can just see sloth getting in the way :/

1. I've achieved the impossible of not making appearance a big priority, having a nice intellect, and not being the most boring man in the world, and to actually give a direction in my education which will help me rake in the big bucks further down the road.

2. I hope to thwart death for as long as possible. Be it a century or two, until western civilization as we know it collapses, or the sun itself envelops the Earth. After all, Bender is right when it comes to longevity.

Which will require me to rake in the big bucks. Oh yes.

1) My greatest achievement thus far is more or less supporting my mom and dad both financially and otherwise. My dad can't take care of himself anymore since he can't walk very well anymore and is suffering from slight brain damage. So my mom is taking care of him, but she's got many problems of her own as well. So I help them out as best as I can.

It's not much of an achievement, but it's the best thing I've done thus far.

Am I happy with it? No, but what do you do?

2) I would one day hope to create my own comic book. I'm a pretty good cartoonist, but I lack the conviction and discipline to actually make a comic book so it probably won't happen anytime soon.

Greatest achievement: Coming up with a way to bypass my disability and actually start losing all the weight I gained between grade 8 and second-year university.

What I hope to achieve: Get rid of my mental illness and start living again.

Passing Media Production at college.

This is very much an achievement for me, because education wise, I had a nasty habit of not paying attention and all in all just not participating.

This is obvious when you look at my GCSE's and you notice the only C I got was for Drama.
(The rest of my grades were below)

Even then I only got that through technicality.
Someone set fire to the Drama department so they assumed everyone's written work was up to C standard.
(Joke's on them, I hadn't DONE any written work)

Anyway, without decent GCSE's I was lucky to even get into a course with a five GCSE entry requirement.

But thankfully the tutor liked me enough to give me a try.

I worked my arse off for two years to achieve a PPM which was enough for me to go to University.
Which I opted out of going to.

So that was my greatest achievement.

But I'm predominantly an illustrator/Cartoonist...

What I hope to achieve is simply to be an illustrator/cartoonist.
Be it online, for newspapers, as a character concept artist, or even writing and illustrating my own comic book/graphic novel.

The Graphic novel is in the works I've got a friend who knows some publishers and I've managed to get a site for my Webcomic [link]http://BrainBolt.co.uk/minigames/[/link] if you're interested.

So yeah, hopefully with some hardwork and continued assistance from my lovely artist girlfriend, I'll be sure to achieve them.

1) I passed all my prelims(4 B's and a C)... I haven't achieved a lot really. And hell yeah I'm happy with that, took some bad ass revision for it.
2) To be accepted into The University of Edinburgh to do Archaeology. I need 4 B's, so it won't be too hard, with a bit of luck

1) My kids. Despite my husband and I being dipshit teen parents (I was just shy of 18 when my oldest was born, just shy of 20 when my youngest was born), we've managed to raise two smart, funny, reasonably well-behaved, and fairly mature little boys.

2) Nothing will ever top (1), but in the near future, getting my bachelor's degree in May 2012. After that, I hope to make lead designer at a AAA game company. Eventually, I want to get a PhD and research the application of both mass-market and curriculum based games in education.

Single greatest achievement so far? I know my family would expect me to say something about OIF, but that wasn't an achievement, that was me getting lucky. So, I guess my single greatest achievement is the fact that I'm [a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RthZgszykLs"]Still Alive.[/a]

What I hope to achieve in the future? Functional Immortality, of course. Isn't everyone's?

My greatest achievement thus far? Being promoted to Supervisor at my last job, which I had to quit because of reasons I won't get into right now.

What do I hope to achieve? To lose the weight, gain some muscle, get trained and someday become as great of a pro wrestler as this man: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZRWKXp21wyA

1) I haven't achieved a lot. I was never a stellar student (not a bad one, just not stellar), I'm still having trouble finding a real job, and I live with my parents because I can't find a job and afford my own apartment.

But I think my one achievement is that I haven't let this get me down. I'm optimistic about the future and every failure I suffer through just makes me want to try and work even harder to make something of myself. Victory will be all the sweeter that way. XD

2) I want to be a novelist. I'm actually in the process of writing one of my big projects and have been posting it on the intarnetz. People seem to like it okay so far. Writing is the one thing I'm fairly good at, and it's not so much a "hobby" as an "overwhelming obsession" for me. XD I'd like to amuse (or scare) people--whether it's actually good or whether they just consider it so bad it's good. As long as someone's amused, I'm happy.

My practical fallback is library work. I'm studying for a library certificate right now.

I would also like to be with my beloved boyfriend for as long as possible. :D

My greatest achievement to date? That's a tough one. I'd have to say conquering my social anxiety, which up until a few months ago, was preventing me from joining college and continuing my academic education.

What do I hope to achieve? In the long run, I want to work for the Criminal Investigation Department. I'm not sure whether I'd rather be a Crime Scene Investigator or a Detective, but that's something I can look into later down the line.

My greatest achievement to date? I don't really know. I've done so many things over the past few years that I couldn't really name one thing. I finished University, but I didn't see that as much of an accomplishment. I guess I would mention the periods of "greatness" I had, most notably during 2009-2010, but that's a story I reserve telling for my close friends. I've got alot of things to be proud of from my past, even if I myself am less pleased about the overall picture.

What do I want? Ultimately, I just want to become the person I want to be, get my own home for myself, and to live near some very close friends and to enjoy life with them. <3
