What are you thoughts on the new punisher movie.I myself think its gonna be okay, but not comparable to the last punisher movie which i freakin loved and for the first time in my life i liked its changing some facts for the sake of the moviw which just turned out great. The only flaws in that movie were the part when he jused bow and arrow to infiltrate a mob meeting and the part where he showed aliwe to the cops, but nobody gave a shit. Punisher. war zone on the other hand will not live to the first movies greatnes because of a) Changing the actor who played the punisher in the last movie to some douchebag from ROME b)The change of the movies producers and letting marvel actualy make a movie. c)From the trailers i can say that Jigsaw looks incrediably gay and what the hell is up whith all of the chemical or virus stuff i the trailer?

P.s You can also say what you thik about the new game "punisker.no mercy" for the ps3.
My thoughts? Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit!

A)Nothing wrong with folk from Rome.
B)It will probably suck anyway.
C) I dunno.
D)Your post is a bit tricky to read, better grammar and spelling would help us want to understand your opinion.

I didn't think much of the last Punisher film.

My problem was that I'd played The Punisher PS2 game before seeing the film, the the actor didn't live up to my preconceptions of what the Punisher is like. He seemed too weedy & fragile.

The film & the actor also didn't stack up well to Dolph Lundgren's Punisher film, in my opinion.

From what I've seen, the new film looks ok, better than the second film at least.

I didn't like the way they changed the actor playing the Punisher in the first film, from Dolph Lundgren, to some 'douchbag' from Buffy The Vampire Slayer. Now that they've changed him again, I think Ray Stevenson will give a much better performance as The Punisher than Jane.

I just hope the game will be as good as the previous Punisher game, which is still one of my all time favourites. I hope they keep all the content & don't pussify it by making it a T rated game.

Er...Shouldn't this go in the Off-Topic section? It is mostly about the movie, with a new game getting a brief mention as an afterthought.

But frankly, I think the movie looks pretty shitty anyway. Just another generic, mindless action flick...Move along guys, move along; nothing new or worth watching to see here.

The problem lays on the property itself. Punisher is a no-nonsense vigilante with a strict black-and-white moral code. While his methods are interesting (which they did a good job of in the Thomas Jane movie, IMHO), the character isn't. There's nowhere interesting to go with him, as there is say, Batman. You commit a crime, you die. It's basically "Death Wish".

Punisher is a character best left to games and comics. You could also probably do a good "Punisher" TV series in the vein of "Wiseguy". A self-contained movie will always be pretty bland.

Surely a TV series would need to be heading somewhere, though.

Unless it's some JJ Abrams piece of crap.

Im pretty disapointed that they arent keeping the origonal actor, since I really loved the first movie. I don't have high expectations for this movie, it looks a bit like their just trying to make more money with this movie.

In my opinion he is quite the opposit, to understand that you need to get into the comics. I mean hes my favourite Marvel character just because of his, realism, his etick codes, his methods and all the questions you give for his past or for his motives. Also the main villains are rather cool. But i do agree that the only other comic characters that can rival him are Batman or The DareDevil.

I was actually VERY into the comics in the eighties and nineties. I belive that "War Zone" was by far the best comic, because it was more about being undercover and infiltrating than the other books tended to be. I maintain my statement that he's a pretty bland character though. When you strip it down, it's just revenge.

Yeah thats true, no one ever goes anywhere with the Punisher. I mean, the guy has to be a walking headcase- at least the Punisher game for PS2 gave us some vietnam flashbacks (remember Frank Castle is a V.V.) to play up the fact he's unbalanced.

What they need to do is play up that his methods AREN'T always right. The Punishers way definatly is not the BEST way. He just shows up and kills everyone- and when that mucks shit up, he has to kill MORE people.

Give us an experiance where it's confusing who the actual hero is (hint- it's probably the police that clean up Frank's messes). Frank Castle himself probably wouldn't even see himself as a hero- in his darkest thoughts, he probably thinks of himself as nothing more then a murderer. But he goes on doing what he thinks his necessary, for the world and for his revenge.

It's got a theme song done by Rob Zombie. I'll end up seeing it eventually, just to get it out of my head.
