that looks... wow. it does look like the Saving Private Ryan of our generation...Smagmuck_ said:<youtube=ZnlPgo9TaGo>
Looks amazing, hopefully it'll be on par with Saving Private Ryan or Black Hawk Down.
I mean, damn, I'm going to keep begging my girlfriend to take me to see it for Valentine's Day.![]()
If I give it the benefit of the doubt, it's gun-porn for the Call of Duty generation. Otherwise it is a message movie, saying "worship the military, adore the soldiers, BECOME a soldier" it is a little creepy.cbarfield90 said:Also regarding that Act of Valor movie....hate to be a party pooper but that's propaganda. Unabashed propaganda. It honestly makes me queasy.
Subtitles destroy immersion for me.RAKtheUndead said:I am absolutely furious that the Americans had to make a bloody native version of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. I'm sick of the Americans being too lazy to read subtitles and having to take intellectual property to put their stamp of authority on all forms of culture.
Personally, though, there are very few films which are enticing enough to make me want to watch. I think it's been a dismal year for films, and it may well take until the release of Rush before there's a film with subject matter that actually draws me to the cinema.
Doesn't that mean it's more likely to be realistic and thus a good movie? Who cares if its propaganda, the pledge of allegiance is propaganda.Actual said:If I give it the benefit of the doubt, it's gun-porn for the Call of Duty generation. It seems it's endorsed by the Navy (as the actors aren't actors at all but real SEALs) I guess giving it the benefit of the doubt is silly, it is propaganda.
Personally, I'm really looking forward to Chronicle and The Avengers.
So. Much. PROPOGANDA! But yeah, it looks like it will be a good movie.TrilbyWill said:apparently, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy isnt good. my friend calls it 'Tinker Tailor Total Shite' and the only thing he remembers about it are bananas.
Chronicle looks fucking awesome though...
And so does In Time
If you can't/won't watch, basically you never age past 25, and we use time instead of money. The rich live forever, the poor die young. Mr Main Character starts robbing all the banks and giving poor people time.

Well, I hate Daniel Craig with a passion of a thousand burning suns, so yeah, I have a solid reason not to like this new remake.animehermit said:The original wasn't some gold standard of film, it was kind of a shit movie tbh, the English version has a much better pedigree than the original, what with David motherfucking Fincher directing it. Hell it's likely to win the Oscar for best picture this year, provided the Oscars take a break and actually give awards to films that deserve them. I don't get the hate these remakes have been getting lately, the remake of "Let the Right One In" was actually better than it's original.Jazoni89 said:Also, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo will never live up to the Swedish original. Why America needs to remake every single good foreign film is beyond me. I'm more than happy with the original, thank you very much.
Your not the only one. I pretty certain that me and my bro are going to watch it this Christmas (we always watch a film every year).Terminate421 said:I am looking forward to this. I loved the first one.
