So, I remembered one time, the only time, I tried starcraft's online play. I soon found out, I was up against ridiculously professional players who have been online for 11 goddamn years. Of course I was squashed, but alas, the stupid game is IMPOSSIBLE to get into! Excuse me for being new, dammit, I suppose I'll play with my friends.
Anyways, what are your worst noob moments in gaming?
(This was sort of an excuse to blow of steam from that stupid occurrence)

I was the last one left in CS:source playing CT on a game on de_dust2. The bomb was down but I had no idea what button you pressed to defuse.

I had a moment much like that the first time I tried to play Street Fighter with tournament level players. I'd been playing for a couple of years myself at that point, but never outside of my small group of family and friends.

It was a tournament at a local arcade to commemorate the release of Street Fighter III: Third Strike. Thinking myself to be be pretty hot stuff, I entered as Dudley. My first match was against a Ryu user who in retrospect, wasn't actually terribly skilled, but simply understood the basic concepts of strategy that I'd yet to grasp.

Being a noob, I tried to jump in for an air fierce punch. He Shoryuken'd me out of the air. I jumped again, he countered again. I jumped a third time, he countered a third time. Starting to see the connection, I tried to attack by ground. He threw a Hadouken. I jumped. He Shoryuken'd me out of the air. The match continued in this fashion until I was eliminated.

Any half-decent Street Fighter player knows that the Shoryuken is a nigh-unbeatable counterattack to any aerial attempts, meaning jumping at Ryu will almost certainly end in a chunk of life getting knocked off your health bar. Of course, I wasn't half-decent back then.

Playing COD4 Search and Destroy: Pipeline. We were the defusing team. There were 4 of us left, everyone on the enemy team was dead, the bomb was planted. I jump off the roof to defuse and died. My teammate #1 throws a nade at the bomb, runs to defuse it, gets killed by his own nade. My teammate #2 is stuck in the underground glitch and can't get out. My teammate #3 runs to the bomb and it blows up in his face.

I facepalmed.

Playing TF2 and not knowing which button to press to activate things.

On a custom map, that requires you to operate switches to make the boat move forward... AAARGH!

Although my best Noob win moment was playing Command & Conquer for the first time, packing up every building I had and marching my units off toattack at the start of the round... and winning by fluke.

The first time I tried WoW I had no idea what I was doing at all, even after people had explained them to me, it was something like "Experienced Player: Okay, so when you hit a character you do 30 damage and you might get a crit" "Me: lolwut?"

Trying to play a match of MvC2 against some random unknown guy on PSN. I'm no good at fighting games anyway. I got pretty well trounced.

Was just tracking a guy down the sight with a G3 on cod4, on the map countdown, he went into last stand behind some barrels, I walked slowly towards him and fell down a missile silo, god was my face red

I did a frenzy-healing signet combo in a r9 HA team in Guild Wars. Basically means healing yourself for a small amount while taking 4 times the damage over 2 seconds. We almost failed because of that little mishap, and I had to spend the remaining matches trying to convince people that I hadn't bought my account on ebay.

Managed to get 0 kills in 5 CS:S games in a row one time. This was not a fluke, sadly =(

This is quite game specific but i will explain it for anyone who doesnt play.

I was really tired and i was playing socom confrontation. I was playing a game mode called extract as terrorists and killed a hostage.
In Extract you cant kill hostages to win but in the escort game-mode you can. I thought i was playing escort. So when i killed 2 hostages and my team lost i was really confused and i went on the comms and said: how come we lost i killed the hostages.
2 seconds later i'm the only person left on my team

I fumbled my way through Corrosion in CoD: WaW. I forgot my personal score. It was something like 2-19. By some miracle, we won, though. We scratched by with a score of 753-700 or thereabouts. I remember saying through the entire match "I have no idea what's going on".

I've only gotten slightly better on Corrosion. I hate that damn map. Last time I played I got a score of 10-8-8 with a team loss of 750-733.
