YouTube Censoring Profanity in Comments?

I'm sure if you've been on YouTube today you've noticed that there are no swear words in the comments. Or at least for most of us. On the video page the profanity is replaced with asterisks. But on the comments page they are as they were typed. So YouTube is cracking down on the YOU in YouTube? Or was it North Korea?

I'm sorry kid but if you even started doing that you would need a 24/7 team of super typers that started about 6 years ago.

Now all they need to do is remove the words gay, fag, and homo, and the other third will be gone.

who cares AND they can censor what ever the hell they want, there is no such thing as free speech on the internet since everything is a private forum and free speech laws don't apply to them

too many people want their rights but they have no clue what they are and how they apply

On every youtube video, right above the comments is a blue "options" link. You can turn off the filter there, but you have to do it on every video.

So don't freak out. You can still say and see bad words, you just have to work for it now.
