Youtube problems?

Hey guys, I'm curious to know if any of you have been experiencing problems with youtube lately? I thought maybe it's just me or my ISP, but I've got 75-100mbps bandwidth and even a brand new gaming rig but it's still running slow. My downloads reach 1mb/s+ so I know it can't be my download speed :S

I can barely load videos on youtube even at 360p :S. It's only with very few videos that I can actually properly load them up. Anyone else been experiencing these problems for the past few weeks like I have?

Oh also if it helps narrow things down I've tried on my MBP as well as my PC, and I've tried chrome, firefox, safari and IE -.-...

On 360p that video stopped at 6 seconds dammit >.<... I wonder if maybe it's still got something to do with my ISP :S, it's weird cause the videos load just fine on my phone on 3G!

Youtube's been shit for buffering for more than half a year, a longterm problem they blatantly ignored where the damn thing won't even load while paused. There was also that sound problem too, and yeah it HAS been slow here and there. There MIGHT be some breakthrough with the buffering issue, but it's largely inconsistant and still shit.

Are you sure you actually get that sort of speed consistently? That's a very high speed and it makes me think you're probably achieving something much lower for regular internet browsing.

My only other suggestion is that youtube might throttle your speed at a very high download speed.

The funny thing is, you can oftentimes get around this by loading an HD resolution. It makes no sense to me.

OP: YouTube unfortunately does a horrible job of load-balancing on their servers, and it's not uncommon to get stuck with one that's being overwhelmed. Sometimes you just have to put up with it for a while until the problem gets resolved.

Aside from the mind boggling rearrangements of any and every window, i have lost the ability to play my favourites playlist in order, it keeps randomly jumping to five videos and playing them over and over, the button that shows the playlist disappears when it changes video, and the function to delete videos from a playlist has been deleted.
When i start my browser onto a youtube video it invariably says ''sorry an error has occurred'' or something
Sometimes i can not move the time index marker
The comment section will randomly not display the post button and when it does, it sometimes randomly will not do anything when i click it and the captcha will display all the previous codes i have entered over the code when beginning to type
The bio section seems to have disappeared from peoples channels
The tags are no longer displayed, as well as the dislike bar for some reason
Also the ratings are no longer displayed on video links
Probably my fault, but i can not watch any bigger resolution than 720 without weird slow motion jerk lag and it will not display the image until about a second or three from the loading of the video on normal res
And it sends me video links to private videos

I've been having issues with all flash video since version... 10? 11? Whenever it was that they did that big HD push. I think that was also when they were pushing for mobile device compatibility, though. Either way, it was a huge, gamechanging update, and something in its netcoding has yet to be un-fucked in subsequent updates. I get the same issues randomly (though usually it works fine) on four different operating systems (Linux, Windows XP, Windows 7 and Android) and three different internet connections (one cable, one DSL, one T1 at work).

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and blame Adobe.

after polling my roommate, apparently the same problem exists in Mac OS X Snow Leopard and Lion... so add another OS to the list.

I think since I updated flash I've been having some weird issues with flash videos in general, though I first noticed this on YouTube and more recently on Gametrailers.

My connection has recently been upgraded yet for some reason flash videos on both sites sometimes take for ever to load or stop at strange times etc.

Everything else though works fine and my download speeds for files etc is vastly improved, so I doubt it's my connection.

The other thing is that a friend of mine recently asked me the same thing. He was also having problems with YouTube for no good reason and all of a sudden.
I suspect it's something to do with Flash itself.

It's gotten so bad that I missed about half a week's worth of content.

You mean beside what's usually broken about it? Well I did have a bit of a problem with videos not working for a few minutes but that's cleared up now.

In all seriousness, the two biggest things YouTube has fucked up is the current lack of buffering videos and the channel pages. The old channel page was awesome and lots of people loved it. The fact that for a while a message would occasionally pop up asking if you knew you had a channel page just shows how much people hate the new layout, and yet it still hasn't been changed.
