This is the official thread for "Zero Punctuation: Imp Infestation".

Please tell us what you think of the game; use of the words "compelling" and "cinematic" are already assumed in your reviews.

nah, sorry, but this sort of game seems a bit weak. maybe my standards are too high, or my fiath in humanity is, but there must be something better than this, right? right?!
no offense, man, but this alone could've been made better. like using png instead of bitmaps so the yellow frame around the imps doesn't overlap the blue bottom frame.
oh yeh, and of course it's very cinematic, with an undertone of simplicity to reflect upon society's tendency to overlook what really lies beneath. blah blah you get the drift ;)

Now that's not very nice. Do I have to be a movie director to have an opinion on a movie. I understand because it was yours you feel the need to defend it but there's no need to get into logical fallacies.

It's not my video-game; I had nothing to do with it. At all. I don't know the creator. I don't know anyone who helped make it.

Ah, my apologies, I just assumed the first person to call foul on a bad review would be it's creator. I know I would.

Well, at least this one is a game...of sorts. Though it did hold my attention for less time than the rediculous cut-scene.

Is this the quality of games to come?

I had.... higher expectations.

Nice idea but overall fails in the implementation. No scoring ystem to speak of, and the sprite design just seems lazy. The imps have the yellow background around them which is fine on the actual yellow parts of the screen, but not when they overlap other, non-yellow parts of the main background. Overall, a shoddy working of a decent idea. Seems that more time and effort is required here.

It's the typical flash game you would play in school and get bored of rather quickly. It's a good start, but it should have some more features. Isolate the sprites so the yellow blocks wont follow the targets, also do the same thing with the cross hair so you can see the targets through it for a better look. There's really not much to it, but fair enough. I've seen the same games made in better programming as a starter test for those who try to learn programming at home. I'm not impressed, but it's probably better than Big Rigs Racing.

No. Game, meaning in some way interactive. As this file is, then it counts.

And well, what did you want? Me to recreate Oblivion in Flash? Mabye if there was some sort of reward beyond needlessly sarcastic critisism.

No. By that definition, an online book is a game. After all, I have to click it to turn the pages, right?

A game is an interactive activity which proposes a goal that must be reached with a set of parameters or rules. This one lacks any goals. You can't even say it is 'shoot as much imps as you can' because it doesn't keep count.

I mean, seriously. I know next to nothing about flash, and I could do this. I could do this in half an hour. It would take longer to load a ZP to find a proper pose of Yahtzee than to half-heartedly post it as the background of my 'game'. If it at least counted the imps you shot... as it stands, it's worse than that 'simplicity' game.
