I'm a fan of Zero Punctuation, and I am working on a game based on ZP. It is going to be in the form of a platformer. I have started the game, and sent an email to Yahtzee asking for permission. Any suggestions on how I should make the game? For instance, what would make it fun and addictive?

Don't go overboard with references, don't try and mimic his humour unless it's a "tribute" and don't use the non-existent word "addicting", the correct word is addictive.

If the game insults you about everything you do, and then comforts you and tells you "at least it wasn't as bad as..."

The game has to have lots of humor; Zero Punctuation is hilarious.

Yeah, BUT, I think i wont be done in time for the deadline. Im guessing it will take over a month. If i am done in time, I most likely will submit it.

Nothing, you might as well just stop now...

I kid I kid, I remember playing a demo for a similar sounding game based on Zero Punctuation, and I quite liked it.

I guess you'd have to make a huge effort the include ''Yahtzee'' in the game, like really represent and convey all that wit and dark humour, weather it be through dialogue or just in the game some where.

Making a platformer fun is easy, just take inspiration from some of the greats and put it in a ZP theme.

The key to making a ZP game, I feel, is to make it feel like ZP, that's the important thing. I honestly don't know what the best way to do that is, though. So I guess, just try to include the frantic, schizophrenic, feeling ZP gives out; work heavily on things like visual jokes delivered in conjunction with.., I don't know, funny things? Just make me laugh, OK?

Yahtzee slaughtering many brawl fanboys as they chuck flaming envelopes at him is a game I'd play.

And branston pickles as health.

Every-now-and-then at random intervals, you can throw in a quicktime event where if the player fails, the character dies. There doesn't even need to be a threat: The character can simply stop what he is doing, look up and watch as a giant X appears in the sky, an the player only has a small window of time to press X. If you could make 50+ random deaths because you fail the QTE people would play simply to watch them all.

here are some idea.

missile falls from the sky
spikes from the ground
implosion
ninja
attack from zombie horde
Thor appears and you are killed by lighting
explosion

This would be good. Some kind of God of War style battle against endless waves of fanboys. I would pay to play that

the final boss could be the "quick-time-events-villian-guy" NO WAIT! even better: george lucas!

also you could make some enemies main characters from games hated by Yahtzee.

the objective could be to save his loved one "saints row 2" from her evil brother "red faction" who lives in the THQ fortress

there could be a powerup that tranforms you into gordon freeman (or maybe batman)

I was wondering what happened to that, I see the advertisement all over the escapist for a month and then it disapears without even a peep from yahtzee.

This sounds Awesome! But i might use portal instead, cause he refers to that as the "Perfect Game."
