The Zombie Apocalypse Squad.
Prologue:
The Zombie Apocalypse has struck, and a survivors have banded together to stay alive. There are few experts... And a few dumbasses. Their team consisted of Clirck, their 'leader' and techie, able to fly planes, helicopters, and hotwire most vehicles. Samuel, a family man and somewhat of a second in command, Zapper, resident strategist with a hidden past, Portal, an enigmatic man hell-bent on stopping the infection at its source, and Kid, hotheaded and strong, with a strange tattoo with somewhat mystical properties. Their adventure together started when they tried to fly a helicopter to Area 51, the ground zero of the infection, but were shot down by a survivor's flare. They loaded onto a truck, but crashed due to the explosion of a missile. They were the last hope of humanity. They were going to take the fight to the zombies. They called themselves...
Chapter 1: F*** Hollywood
After crashing, the ZAS made their way toward Los Angeles, and encountered two new individuals. The first was Doc, a strange old German doctor that is a skilled medic, and the second was Shar, a very nervous and cowardly boy, yet very smart. After narrowly evading a zombie horde, they load up into a van and head into LA. After finding the city completely deserted, the team splits up, Clirck, Zapper, and Kid head to find a helicopter, and the rest attempt to locate another survivor by the name of Sparrow, a loud-mouthed comedian, who holed himself up in his own fort. After having a close encounter with a rather powerful warrior zombie, the former squad gets a helicopter and takes off to locate the others. The latter squad fights off a few zombies with Sparrow, and is reunited with the other squad. Clirck uses a device he gets from Sparrow, and blows up LA. Clirck then forms a plan, head to Area 51 to find answers, hitting Las Vegas along the way. Portal deserts them in an attempt to reach the military base in Oklahoma City for supplies. About halfway through the chopper ride, Shar leaps out of the copter, having noticed something and being constantly ignored by the adults around him. The ZAS then decide to go to Oklahoma City as well, seeing it as a resting point for their journey to Wales, which has not been hit by the infection, but still stop at Las Vegas first...
Chapter 2: Take Me Down To Oklahoma City
Las Vegas turns out to be filled with zombies, and the ZAS find themselves surrounded quickly. Portal saves them single-handedly with a powerful weapon that can create portals, sending the zombies hurtling off of skyscrapers. Just as the group seems happily reunited, a huge beast of a zombie attacks them, and Portal flies toward Area 51 in a fighter jet, while the others run. Sam, Doc, and Sparrow get into an APC and headed for Oklahoma City as Clirck, Zapper, and Kid fly off in the helicopter. Meanwhile, Shar is bitten by a zombified dog, and after injecting himself with an anti-zombie serum, becomes half-zombie, half-human. Shar attacks the APC, and is shot off, but survives. Zapper contacts the APC via radio, and the helicopter is attacked by zombified birds as he jokes around with the idea of them. The helicopter is forced to crash land in Oklahoma City, and retreat to a house. Clirck shoots some of the birds, and Zapper attacks the swarm with two M16's, taking down the whole flock. A radio sensation, One+Two Dawg, provides the ZAS with some info. There are a group of survivors in Oklahoma City! Afterward, they get a radio message from Doc, and they shoot a flare to show their location. The ZAS reunites once more, minus Portal, who flew to North Korea to get nuclear weapons, then flew back to Area 51. The ZAS then try to head towards the airport in OC. Sam begins to worry about the presence of werewolves in the area, as the full moon is fast approaching. After getting closer, they raid a hunting store, gaining new weapons. However, as they begin to leave, Zapper is shot and captured by mercenaries, and rest of the ZAS fights a werewolf. Sparrow begins to feel odd with the full moon, and Shar saves him from another werewolf. The ZAS then begins to speak with the mercs...
Chapter 3: I Am High-Mane, Hear Me Hooooowl!
A few more werewolves attack, and with the mercenaries help, the ZAS holds them off. They then go to the mercenaries' base, meeting up with a somewhat gruff and angry mercenary with a good soul, Chris. He and Shar fight, but neither are seriously injured. Doc tries to cure Shar of his zombification, and manages to halt his want for flesh. Sparrow begins to show signs of becoming a werewolf, and Doc attempts to cure him as well. Chris shares his story with the ZAS, he originally came from Scotland, then fled to Florida, but had to eat some of his fellow survivors to stay alive. The others died from disease, and he found the mercenaries. Portal enters 51, and fights some zombies, then fires nukes at the alien queen generating the virus to kill her, escaping with his portal gun, but not before losing his right forearm to zombies. Zapper wakes and is interrogated by the merc leader, who knows about his past, and calls him by his true name, Lance Nicolson. Zapper kills the merc leader when he threatens him with a werewolf, but is bitten. Zapper cuts off his pinky finger to prevent the spreading of the venom, and becomes a half-werewolf. Zapper finds the ZAS, and immediately does not trust Chris after speaking with the lead mercenary. Jones, a mercenary, tries to convince Chris to attack the ZAS with a false story of his leader's death, but Chris sees through it and is attacked by the other mercs. The ZAS and the mercenaries have a shootout, with Sparrow and Zapper using their werewolf instincts to fight them hand to hand. Werewolves join the fray, followed by zombies, and the firefight soon becomes an all-out brawl. The ZAS retreats to the APC, and escape the merc base, blowing it to smithereens behind them. Kid attacks the werewolf leader, High-Mane, for the vengeance of his family and defeats him with his strange tattoo giving him a werewolf claw. He does not kill High-Mane, however. Zapper becomes terrified upon hearing High-Mane's name. Apparently, both he and Kid have a history with the werewolf. Portal teleports back with the rest of the squad, and Doc attempts to cure him, as he was half-zombie and irradiated. Shar tells the ZAS that even though Portal killed the queen, there was a second one as well. Portal says that for everyone to be fully cured of their ailments, they need to go to his lab in the Great Lakes. Portal is wrapped in tinfoil to prevent the spreading of nuclear radiation, and the group heads towards Portal's lab. Unknown to all of them, they are being watched by one peculiar young lady...
Chapter 4: The One Where Not A Lot Happens
Portal tells the ZAS of his old life, he was a scientist that preformed near impossible experiments. He was raided by Aperature Sciences when he makes the portal gun. He sunk a yacht in the Great Lakes to make his lab. High-Mane attacks the APC, and a woman assists the ZAS in driving him back. She introduces herself as Andy, then vanishes. The APC continues its trek, and is loaded onto a warplane. Doc drools over Andy, and after Portal and Zapper have a horrid realization of Doc's hidden perverted nature, the plane begins to run out of fuel. Zapper and Portal evacuate via a portal, meeting up with Andy. Zapper feigns attraction towards her, not trusting her. He jumps through a 'universal portal' that Portal made, and ends up at Area 51...
Chapter 5: We're Sorry, Your Half-Werewolf Has Encountered A Problem And Needs To Shut Down
Zapper gets some strange papers from Area 51 that he stuffs in the back of his shirt. He returns to the warship and is covered with tinfoil to protect the others from his nuclear radiation. He continues his false pervert act with Andy, and the plane is brought down to refuel. Andy tells Chris that she was out of town when the infection hit, and she found a sniper rifle at a bunker to defend herself with. She hid at the top of a skyscraper, and then the ZAS showed up. Chris tells her part of his story that he told no one else about. He was with a woman, Rachel. After she was infected, he couldn't bring himself to kill her. Zapper tells Sam of his distrust of Andy, and the two agree to confide in each other if they discover something strange about her. A group in jeeps approach them, the leader introduces himself as Duke, and they all work for One+Two Dawg. They bring the ZAS to see him, and after leaving, the ZAS split up again. Zapper and Sparrow stay to wait for One+Two Dawg, while everyone else goes to salvage crates that fell from the plane. Unfortunately for Portal, he was left on the warship by himself. His legs soon gave out, and he built himself a wheelchair. Zapper nods off, and Sparrow reads the papers, they were written by a boy named Lance Nicolson Jr. His father worked in science at Area 51. He was creating werewolves to destroy the alien queen, but his wife died, hampering his research. Zapper wakes up and interrupts Sparrow, having somewhat of a mental breakdown after seeing the papers read. He says they aren't his, and the writer wouldn't want him to read them. Sparrow goes outside, when suddenly, High-Mane attacks...
Chapter 6: Smells Like Wet Dog In Here
Sparrow attempts to fight High-Mane by himself, but is quickly beaten and captured, but not before killing Red-Fang, High-Mane's son. The rest of the ZAS fights off more werewolves, then split up, sending Chris, Portal, and Shar to Portal's lab to be cured, while the others stay with the warship. Duke gives Zapper a ride, courtesy of One+Two Dawg, AKA Hilford or Hill, to find the squad heading to Portal's lab. Shar yells at the others, saying that becoming a zombie was the best thing that ever happened to him, as he now has power and abilities, both of which he lacked before. Chris rebuffs Shar, and tells him if he doesn't get cured, he'll be treated as an outcast when the world returns to normal. He agrees to teach Shar how to use a gun if he agrees to return to normal. Shar agrees, reluctantly. Meanwhile, Sam heads back to the studio, and discovers blood from Sparrow's fight with High-Mane. He also is tracked by an odd dog. Andy falls through a portal and ends up at Aperature Sciences. Sam tries to locate Sparrow and Zapper, and finds the dog. Portal loses his speech due to radiation poisoning, and writes on a chalkboard to communicate with Chris. Zapper locates them, but has to fight through a zombie horde to get to the ZAS group heading to the Great Lakes. The dog talks to Sam, and Sam allows the dog to bite him to turn him into a weredog, like what Sparrow truly was, not a werewolf. The radiation takes a toll on Zapper's sanity, as he begins to jump into fits of randomness. Andy infiltrates the complex, and encounters some more intelligent zombies that use detached doors as shields, while Sam enters the werewolves' secret shrine, trying to rescue Sparrow. The APC gets stopped in Chicago by two mafia guards, but they talk their way out of a fight. The strange dog introduces himself as Robin, and reveals that he bit Sparrow as well. Robin was part of a military project that changed him. Sam breaks Sparrow out, and he, Sparrow, and Robin return to the ZAS. High-Mane attacks Duke, but he is saved by Sparrow and Sam. The Great Lake squad enters the lab via a secret vent. They move into Portal's lab and receive treatments, when soldiers burst in the door...
Chapter 7: Auf Weidersehen, Doctor
Portal finishes treating himself, Shar and Zapper, when suddenly, they pass out. The guards there drugged them! They are all tied up, stripped, and put in separate rooms, while Portal in tortured by the guard captain. Portal believes that a woman named Kadesha betrayed him to the guards. Andy teleports to the complex from Aperature Sciences, and frees all of them from their cells. Portal tells Shar that he is permanently a half-zombie, and Shar flips out, since he knows what will happen to him once this all ends. He is knocked out, and the ZAS begins their escape of the lab. Back at the warship, Sam, Robin, and Sparrow find that Doc has contracted malaria, and the old man slips into a coma. Sparrow kills him out of mercy, yet seems unaffected by taking his friend's life. Shar and Zapper seem to feel the loss of Doc, and Portal encounters and captures Kadesha. They escape, taking Kadesha with them, using a portal to appear at the warship. After a warm reunion, Doc's death is revealed, and Zapper becomes incredibly angry with Sparrow for not keeping him alive. Sam goes out that night, furious, and kills werewolves left and right, watched by Zapper and Kid. Portal reveals that Kadesha is his sister. The warship takes off later, and Sparrow plans to land near his family in England, who live near Sam's family as well. Portal gives Chris some strange devices, and tells him to use them in a lab in Switzerland, and leaps from the plane with Kadesha, killing them both. Upon landing in England, Sparrow and Sam use their powers to tear through a horde. The ZAS meets Hunter, Sparrow's younger brother, who brings them to Sparrow's house, and reunites the family. Zapper realizes that the full moon is going to happen soon, and according to his research with werewolves, Sparrow would become a killing machine, and would even kill his own family. He talks to Chris about it, and Chris sees through the lie he put up in place of his research. Chris tells him to talk to them about it, so Zapper speaks with Sparrow. Chris catches Andy after a shower, and show a bit of attraction towards her. Sparrow convinces Zapper to allow him to leave on the night he will change to go help Sam find his family. Tensions run high between the two when Zapper reveals he dipped his sai in silver...
Chapter 8: The Howl Of A Lone Werewolf
Andy shows Chris a scar along her back that limits the use of her left arm, while Zapper convinces Sparrow and Sam to let him come on the escapade to find Sam's family and Chris does the same. Zapper talks to Sam, who is reasonable about the idea of restraining them for safety, but he needs to see his family, so he ultimately objects. The four of them go, and Sam sees his father, Greg, at his house with Sparrow, while Chris and Zapper stay behind at the APC. When Sam transforms, Greg shoots at him, but Sparrow takes the shotgun round, defending Sam. Zapper rushes to the scene to help, but his hunter instincts make him attack zombies before he goes. Sam brings Sparrow back to the APC, where Robin, Zapper, Sam, and Chris watch Sparrow die. Zapper has a mental breakdown, and Chris tortures Greg, and Sam kills him. Sam says a quick farewell to his wife, and they all return to the house. Zapper embraces Andy and tells her to forgive him for what he is about to do. The Everett family is told of Sparrow's death, and Zapper breaks down laughing, calling them monsters for only crying over those they are close to. Chris and Zapper argue, and Zapper declares that he's leaving the ZAS to fulfill Portal's last request. Chris calls Portal a failure, saying that he betrayed what they stood for. Zapper calls Chris out on his torturing of Greg, and Chris realizes what he's done. He talks to Sam, and Sam comforts him, telling him that he would have done the same. Chris gives Zapper the devices Portal gave him, and tells him to wait until Sparrow is buried. Zapper prays, and tells Portal that if he can hear him, tell a boy in heaven named Lance that Lance Nicolson is sorry. Portal does so, and the boy gives him a note that he should give directly to Lance Nicolson. Sparrow is buried, and Zapper hotwires a van following the funeral and drives toward France. The remaining ZAS members now debate on what to do next. Zapper arrives in France, and meets two young men named Jacque and Pierre. Portal make an arrangement to see God, and is now waiting.
