Lisa called nay with the others, watching her sister carefully, unsure about how she'd react to this.

Christie had foreseen this coming. Slightly enraged by Lisa's defining vote against her but she paced slightly, ideas running in her mind. She said nothing at first. She stopped then spoke.
"Is that it then?" She asked in a feigned bewildered tone, her back to the group.

"Yes! Now 'GTFO'!!!" Adries yelled triumphantly, pointing out the door in a dramatic fashion, "May we never see you again!"

"See who again?" Conroy asked from the doorway, walking in on the group meeting. He was greatly worse for wear, with blood stains and tattered clothes. He handed a small package to Alan, saying that he better put what's in there to good use.
"Sir, are you okay?" Jacobs asked, getting a bewildered look back.
"Oh I'm fine. Shot a few times, bitten a few times but all is well," Conroy said, taking a seat by the door, "Now looky here people, I'd prefer to not be a zombie when I die...so if you want to know anything or something ask me now before I head out and end it."
"I'd like to say thanks for getting this," Alan muttered, holding up a small, red and black computer that was inside the packaging.

She looked at the computer briefly before looking towards Conroy and was about to ask if there was anything she could do to help the wounds, then remembered the bites and held her tongue.

Maybe Karma isn't such a bad thing, even if works in mysterious, asshole ways.
"Sir." Christie saluted, "You managed to get here even on such injuries? Outstanding." She spoke giving him a respected look.
"That 'who' by the way, is me. If you wouldn't mind answering, would you object to me joining this group? For survival and duty reasons? It seems there's some issues about this and your opinion would be more than valid."

"Yeah it wasn't so bad. I was actually doing pretty well until that base came under attack from a bunch of zombies. Then I had to get out of there, catching a few bullets and bites on my way out. Place is probably completely overrun. Good thing I had an 4-wheeler or else I probably wouldn't have made it here," Conroy said tiredly, taking a few pauses in between words.
He answered Christie, "I don't really care much, not like I'm going to be here or anything. I guess you'd be a good...helpful hand. Argh, kinda got light-headed there...anything else?"

Alan and Adries looked at Conroy before glaring at Christie. Alan looked completely pissed and marched out, heading to the APC.
"This kinda sucks," Albert muttered to Adries, who nodded in reply.

She held back a triumphant chuckle, keeping the same composed and respected look. She thought about Jack momentarily knowing that he was already working hard on his plan.
"I thank you. I know it seems petty but you've contributed greatly. Also, I should thank you for saving my ass a few days ago, I never got around to doing it beforehand...Good luck, sir." Christie saluted again.

You...-
Lisa tightened her fists slightly. She looked to the door, then to Adries and Albert, considering whether or not to follow him.

((Argh, I hate having to go through all my old cds to upload some songs onto my iPod. Especially since they're all packed away. >_< ))

"Alright then. No problem LC," Conroy said as he stood back up. He saluted to everyone, a somewhat pleased look on his face. He turned and told Jacobs something before exiting the building, "I'll walk as far as I can, just so you guys don't have to- yeah. It was nice knowing you."

"Well this sucks," Adries said angrily, trying to think how this could have happened so quickly.

((Ugh, I hate having to burn CDs onto Itunes anyway, It's so tedious.))

"To say the least! What are the chances?" Lisa muttered bitterly, throwing a quick glare to Christie before looking back to Adries, "There's not much we can do now. It's 4 all. I guess it's not impossible to kick her out, but she shouldn't be given the chance in the first place."

"Farewell Conroy. It's been a pleasure." Christie stated in a solemn tone, watching him leave. It took guts for him to do what he was going to do. The second person she'd seen end themselves in two days.

((I have 5 cds that I haven't listened to in awhile, so I have to listen to each song too. Argh, time consuming! Thankfully mine is pretty quick, a few seconds for each song.))

"Fuck. Of course this just had to happen," Adries said, looking at the soldiers watching Conroy leave, "Well, now what? I guess now we can say that we refuse to go to that 'safe' place. At least we'll win that vote..."

Jacobs started to choke up a little, rubbing his eyes. He thought of what Conroy had said, nodding a few times with understanding.

Jack watched through the leaper's eyes as Conroy walked into the building. The leaper was sending him info that Conroy was infected and he searched for the voice in his head of Conroy, it was faint but getting louder. He moved leapers into the forest surrounding the area silently and waited for his chance. If there was one man who knew where the notes were other than Kaufman, it would be his lapdog Conroy.

((Ah, sorry about leaving so suddenly, i was exhausted after work yesterday and fell asleep. XD))

"You mean, make picket signs and protest?" Lisa laughed slightly, "We can find our own safe place without her help anyway. We were managing fine before we even had the military's help...finding somewhere to sleep wise, not much else though."

She thought about telling him to watch himself and that he shouldn't ever consider breaking down instead she shook the idea, remembering that he and Conroy were in the same squad at one point. She put a hand on his arm.
"He was a good man, Jacobs. Don't forget that." Christie heartened as best she could, feeling awkward even trying it.

((No problem. ))

Jacobs nodded a few times, wiping his eyes. "I- I'm going to go ask Alan something. I'll be back in a moment," he said, walking out of the station and heading to the APC.

"Yeah, you're right. Well, I guess we'll all take a look at the map later on and see if we can find anything that looks good and safe," Adries said, watching Jacobs walk out.

Conroy wiped his brow, almost stumbling on a tree root. He looked around, deciding that he was a far enough distance. He coughed a few times as he sat against the tree. His eyes were burning and he was panting from exhaustion. He brought his beretta out and looked at how much ammo he had left. He cursed when he realized it was empty. He fished around his pockets and found a few bullets and put them in, messing up a few times.

Christie went to the desk not too far from where she'd been standing and leant against it. She yawned, checking the tracker again. She hated that things were so idle. So little she could do. At least the first obstacle she'd jumped from some kind of fluke.

"The question is, what would be seen as safe? Oh well. We'll see about that later, maybe head North, away from the city for sure. Let's just hope that nothing turns up to knock us down some more..." Lisa replied with a glance to Christie.

((Not going to post a lot for the next....couple of hours. I just found this Alan Wake contest and I must make a beautiful piece of AW fanart to win it! *goes insane with drawing* ))

"I think it's good for us to stay away from anything close to towns and cities," Adries said, "This forest area is pretty good. No main roads. Not many signs. Barely on a map. But I just don't feel good about being so close to the base. We may be miles away, but the further the better in my opinion."

(( Good luck!))

"Agreed. But if we keep going this forest way we're gonna need to make sure we work out an escape path. Getting trapped is the worst thing that can happen in this kind of area. I'm just kind of cautious." Lisa noted.

Jack watched through the leaper as Conroy tried to reload his Beretta. He had moved two more leapers into the area as Conroy had left and had them immediately pounce silently one covering his mouth as the other two pinned each of his arms behind the tree. Jack walked over to the scorcher and said to him.

"I think it is time to meet the soon to be newest member of our species." Jack said as he grabbed the scorcher's shoulder and teleported out to meet Conroy.

((Argh....finally finished...finally. I'll probably go to bed after this post. If you want to see it just head over to my flickr page.))

"Cautious is good. Hell, it's great. Especially with what's been going on lately," Adries said, looking at a map above the desk. "There is a riverbed over nearby that would be a good escape route..."

Conroy struggled for a few moments, giving up after blacking out for a few seconds. He glared at Jack when he appeared in front of him.

((Oh wow! The picture is really amazing! You're talented Tsatoma, I hope you do well on the contest!))

"That would work. It's just that it seems the forested areas are much more ambushable than the city. Well it does to me at least. Maybe it's because this area isn't familiar." Lisa explained, looking at the map with a nod.

((Perhaps. It honestly depends on what it is and what type of medium you'd want me to do it with. And thanks Vaude! I hope so too, thankfully the competition doesn't seem that bad...))

"It seems like a good idea. Yeah. I'd like to check out the riverbed, maybe later on today. Want to join?" Adries asked Lisa, "Not like we have anything better to do, am I right?"

"Sure, count me in. It'll be good to get out of here for a while anyway. You're too right about there being nothing else to do, It's almost boring. Plus if it's all clear then it'll be better for us to move on." Lisa replied to her looking away from the map.
