If your TV suddenly announced that zombie have broken out and to run away somewhere really fast, where would you flee to in order to last out the zombie apocalypse? Some ideas I have are an oil rig, a base in Antarctica and maybe a desert camp.

I would run to the closest military base, because you have to figure that its safe where they have the tanks.

A oilrig might be nice, but I think a medieval castle with a moat and draw-bridge would work just as well.

Locally? Hardware store. Heat in Propane tanks, weapons abound, even fuel if necessary for quick exit. More permanently? All the answers are in the excellent and practical "Ultimate Zombie Survival Guide" great book. Oil Rig is fine, but zombies will get you there too, they can just walk along to the bottom of the water. Your best bet is a flat plateau somewhere that you can wall and trench off, far from urban areas. If the climate it right, it can be self-sufficient.

I don't think it'd be that much of a problem.... I doubt rotting corpses could over power nations like they actually do in movies.

Zombies that can run don't make much sense to me.

But wouldn't the zombies eventually pile up in the moat, making them able to cross?

For me, it would be Alert, Canada for my escape.

Read WWZ and Zombie Survival Guide by Max brooks that will cover most of it. Personally depending how bad the out break is im going to walmart. Think about it most walmarts are build on hills, limited number of exits all the registers can be moved towards the doors to make a wall. Then there's the food, guns, fuel, supplies.

If you really think about it...wal-mart

there's food (snacks, water, energy drinks, etc..), theres good places to fortify, and most have a freaking hunting section. That means plenty of weapons, ammo and shotguns....your best friend against zombies.

Thats just locally though. I guess if i could, i would just drive. I guess it would be smart to go to a military base of some sort, but i donno.

Hmm... I'd suggest a hiding in a forum. We're only really interested in brains, so it would be the last place we'd look...

I live near a place that docks both tankers and military vessels, so I'd choose one of those, most likely the one with the least amount of people going on it. I'd immediately make it so that there is no way anything can enter, wait for the confusion to die down, stock up on as much supplies as possible, fill up the ship I'm on, head out to see, and then just make it a floating fortress. If that doesn't work, I'll just be constantly on the run until I find something.

I'd head north and find a prison. Preferably north of the 60th parallel. Zombies may not feel the cold, but that don't mean they won't freeze. A maximum security prison is pretty much as good as it gets on land. A building designed to keep people in is also extremely effective at keeping people out.

I don't think the search bar can protect us from anything...

EDIT: because it doesn't seem to be working right now :)
