Can't tell if this is meant to be a more realistic take or a more arcady game like Ace Combat.

But still its cool that Flight Sims/Ace Combat type games are starting to make a comeback, between this and Star Wars: Squadrons, and Microsoft's newest Flight Simulator.

On the steam page they have a vid that shows more gameplay, it looks like its going for the more arcade feeling of Ace Combat since you look like you can hold 80 missiles. In fact, if they had better music then I would say it was an Ace Combat game.

IIRC, Project Wingman began life as an indie Ace Combat game, when the Ace Combat series hadn't had a numbered entry for years. Been in development for a few years, had a Kickstarter in 2018. Glad to hear its coming out, I hope it does well enough to fund a sequel since for me there can't be too many series with the Ace Combat formula going at the same time.

That doesn't suprise me. From what I've gathered, AC apparently was considered to be in a bit of a rut between AC0 in 2006 and AC7 in 2019(AC6 was not well thought of, it seems and AH was...yeah), and since there aren't a lot of flight sims coming out lately, it only stands someone would try to fill that void.
