I'd actually love to see that. An airline that only allow a small carry on, say 10-15 pounds and carries more passengers. Operating basically at cost, flying people around in order to facilitate business, not tourism or vacations.
Eh, high speed mag lev trains are cooler.
True and can be more fuel efficient and used to transport cargo efficiently, but I don't think you'll sell anyone, government or private, on such an infrastructure investment.

They would need to have a higher weight limit on their baggage to accommodate the middle and lower class for transport, they also are more likely not to be able to buy what they need at their destination, even for work. They need to be able to carry work clothes and shoes and necessities as well. Even when they currently take business trips by car, they have to bring a good amount of stuff with them even if they are paid like crap. It is sort of like when you see the person struggling to hold all their stuff on the bus or train. They are not wealthy either, so it is the only option they have.
Not in the the majority of the US. They refuse to invest anything towards public transport in most of the US. That is why in places like Texas no public transportation exists at all outside major cities for the most part. Hell we have trouble just getting them to build sidewalks here.

Well, I didn't intend for it to be used for anything but 1-2 day outings, that way you need a change of clothes (maybe 2) and some toiletries, anything else can usually be found on location if it is work related. It would also help people with family in other states(or even the same, I tend to forget that the US is friggin big), where there is still the option to wash on location.
I guess people that travel with instruments or specialized tool sets might fall outside of category. Perhaps a form of standardized luggage could be made. To accomodate travel.
But it is communally paid for and does not pay out profits. Unlike businesses.
Businesses are free to stock up money for lean times. Nintendo, for one, famously has a huge warchest. That most businesses choose to throw all profits into expansion, shareholder payouts, and executive bonuses is their own decision. Let them take responsibility for their personal decisions. Isn't that the conservative Bible for the case of austerity?
That's basically what Spirit Airlines is. One carry on, no luggage, seating is basically just a bench, but it only costs $70 or so.

He ultimately managed to push through some of his muslim ban, I don't think it is a question of whether or not this will pass but rather a matter of which iteration we get to before it passes.

But your point was whether it was free or not. It's not. Someone's paying for it.
When trump is told no, he doesn't stop, he just tries to find a way around it and if he can't he just orders people to break the law anyways. He simply does not care.
If the federal government will not give California the money it is due under the federal government's own laws, why should Californians pay taxes to the federal government?
